Tara Sullivan had a very nice article today on the Hurley decision.
Basically:
- Hobbs was as professional and as masterful as can be in his pitch to Hurley
- Hurley was offered a 6 year contract with assurances of upgrades - with facilities; weight room etc.
- Rather than Hurley saying No to Rutgers - he said Yes to URI - as he feels his team is a top 25 squad next year - when 2 pre season A10 Players - Matthews and Martin - return to URI next season after incurring season ending injuries.
- Source per article said that if Hobbs was AD 3 years ago - in lieu of Kirschner at the time - Hurley without question would have been announced as HC - in lieu of EJ.
- Process for new HC will now in all likelihood take a bit longer.
