... almost the entire game was a terrible one by our coaching staff. When I saw Tez was starting I thought brilliant, Coach is putting him on Honor. Good move, it'll keep Geo a bit fresher and also keep him out of foul trouble. WRONG. Tez got the start because Issa was under the weather.

Sure they "at times" put Tez on Honor, but IMO Montez should've been on him every minute he was in the game. Baker is a baller, plain and simple. But he's not Michael Jordan. That is WAY too much of a load to have him stick Honor that much (a speedy little guard) and also produce on the offensive end. Terrible decision.

That said, there is no doubt in my mind that Honor will be, when it's all said and done, one of the top 5 PGs we face all year. He is a flatout stud. He is Jameer Nelson Part 2. Kinda looks like him too, ha.

What's the scouting report on Maine and Columbia? Do they also have 1 amazing player and 4 average to bad ones but that be enough to beat us? Those who wished Corey away, good job. He would still be the best player on this team and we have NO ONE that can come through when we need them like he could.

Geo can do it all but not all the time. He can't do superhuman effort every game. If we had a true PG he would be playing the two guard position.

Bad loss but RU will move on from this experience of playing in a small gym against a scrappy team that knows how to make baskets at home and get the whistle.

Kiss better step up...he literally got rid of the ball like a hot potato today. Really weak by him.

This is the type of game we need him to step up and contribute...

If we require Geo to have a stud game every time out we are effed.

Bad all around game by players and coaches.

It was a bad loss because Rutgers failed to show up for the game and the talent on the team is over rated by fans but not by the media who make preseason predictions.

I like him too, but he can't do it all. He's a weak defender on the ball at this level.

I don't think the team failed to show up. I just think the game plan sucked.

Michael Jordan......lol

Bullshit. Where was the effort? Where were the backside rebounds?

We - again - missed way too many open shots.

This wasnt a gameplan loss. This was an effort and overlooking your opponent loss. Which is of course just as unacceptable.

It was both. Watching Doorson consistently lose his man and hedge at the top of the key when he can’t move makes me want to vomit also.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts when it started that Mathis on Honor was a brilliant move. Montez should be covering the other teams best scoring guard whenever is he on the court moving forward

This is the item right here that Fordham and others will make RU pay for. I know Shaq Doorson is a good matchup some nights, but someone a step quicker or just going smaller would have made more sense.

On the other hand, we probably had 8 points on Shaq Carter alone on offensive rebounds....we run no plays for him and gets 8 points by accident. Wonder what happens if they start him and get him acclimated earlier in the season???

Doorson was awful with the pick and rolls they we're running all night. He's good against a big strong center, not against a more mobile 6'8 big man who brings him out of the low post. Also where did Myles go in the second half?

Was thinking the same thing. I would have thought alternating Carter and Johnson was the way to go in the second half. Johnson hasn’t been playing well lately but the extra mobility was desperately needed.

Also, when that slow Bunting kid wasn’t in, we shouldn’t even have had a big in the game if weren’t going to try to post him up. That skinny big kid with the bandaids and the headband over his eyes was barely a rec player.

Myles had 3 fouls in first half.......hasn't done diddly as of late and Carter is contributing. if anything, it may have made sense not to play Doorson in lieu of Myles in 2nd half vs Fordham

Agree, Mathis would have shut Honor down, he has the size, speed, and the athleticism to smother him, I was going crazy watching it. So damn obvious. This was the first game where I really questioned most of Pike's moves as head scratchers.
