The Demise of Thiam....

Very happy for him. Hasn’t been the season he expected I’m sure, but he hasn’t lost his confidence. Hope he plays this way the rest of the season.

has been greatly exaggerated. 13pts and missed two bunnies that would have given him 17. And some of you wanted to run this kid out of the program. Complete roster. Love it!

While I hope he continues to build on this game, 12 pts for the year of 2019 before this, is not great exaggeration by any means. His emergence could help us go on a great ending run but that's yet to be determined.

I hope he stays - we need to keep guys in the program for 4 years

Love love love tonight’s. But one game does not a season make. Let’s see how he does through March

Good post. I'm a fan of Thiam. Was the game he had expected? Maybe not, but definitely also not surprised how efficient he was against Iowa.

When Issa is on like this, it just shows how many weapons we have on offense. I love it. Great timing for his performance during this final stretch of our schedule. Major props to him for his 13 points last night.

How could you not be happy for Issa? He has had a tough year but hopefully he will have a strong finish. His defense is normally good and if he can finish around the basket, he can be a plus off the bench, even if he does not shoot lights out from three like he did last night.

Thiam IS definitely a player.
I have to wonder if he was injured?

I also wonder what goes on in players lives with taking classes, family matters...so many things coming at you.

I am just glad he is back !

Hopefully he can surpass 100 points for the season. He now has 95. I cannot remember a year when we had 10 guys score at least 100 points in a season. We already have 9 and hoping Thiam can hit a few more 3's over the remaining games.

I think Issa earned a few minutes in each game going forward at least to see if he can get hot from 3. His 3s in the first half were crucial.

Props to Issa and props to Pike for calling Issa’s number.

The BTN announcers said Thiam never missed in pre game warm ups. With Pike's attention to detail, he probably had an assistant coach or manager watching to see who was hot in warm ups.

Iowa played a lot of zone last night. In games where we see a heavy dose Issa can definitely have a heavier role as a zone buster. He just needs to shoot with confidence. Hopefully he can build on yesterday’s game.

It was NOT just this pregame that Issa did not miss, every home game during warm ups Issa drains 3's consistently

He shredded Iowa last year, too. He's a good matchup because of how undisciplined they are on defense and allowing those open corner 3s that other teams don't.

OK, we get your at all the games, but there has to be a reason Pikell would go long stretches not giving him any or limited minutes. No doubt he was a main reason, and not an option Iowa even thought they'd have to account for.
The corner 3 is his only shot and he has a slow release. We're generally better off with Mathis/Harper on the floor
