We have seen this a number of times over the past decade.

We have lost close games and won close games- I think our track record shows that we have won more of them than lost, but I will leave that debate to the board.

This is the nature of football- we don't always know how that football will bounce.

Hopefully it bounces our way a bit more in conference play, starting next week at PSU.

Keep chopping, because that is all we can control.

I'll trade a win against PSU for a loss against WSU any day of the week. I think we matchup quite well against PSU from what I've seen so far.

Yes, the proverbial bounce of the football does effect games. Even with how the game unfolded with the killer penalties, poor defense, turnovers, and Grant just about single-handedly keeping us in the game, making the interception on the first play of the their last drive could have still won the game.

But really, with so many poor plays and sloppy play by Rutgers in this game, they kind of overwhelm the "bounce" of the football theory for me.

But if your theory holds true and things tend to even out, we need to go into TTFP's backyard and play a tough, smart and mistake free game. If we do that, I like our chances.

There were lots of "bounces" that went against us. The fumble not bouncing out of bounds, the tipped INT getting caught by the WSU WR with a toe inbounds, the WSU TD where the receiver had a toe inbounds...

We also had some that went for us. WSU taking the ball out of the endzone a few times went it made no sense, Leach going for it on 4th instead of taking the FG twice, etc.

At the end of the day, though, we had a 4 point lead with 1:31 left, and our defense couldn't keep WSU out of the endzone.
