Another free-standing article about Rutgers sports in the Times today (this one negative) by our old friend Brendan Prunty. Do you think this means that the Times has hired a beat reporter to cover Rutgers sports as if Rutgers was a major local university in a major conference? Or is this just an aberration, and they will go back to treating Rutgers like a minor annoyance, and writing in-depth pieces about the football program at Stony Brook and the women's volleyball team at Towson?
