The OFFICIAL RU-tOSU Game Thread

Freeman put back. Example of him at his most efficient. I know someone blamed Corey for being out of control, but what Nigel did right there Corey does a lot, and those put backs are where Rutgers scores their fair share of points.

Are there stats for having the most shots blocked? Freeman has to lead the nation in that stat. I still like his play, mostly, but he needs to fix that part of it.

Is Johnson under instructions not to drive?

Edit: Now I know why, he sucks at it.

That was really dumb by Freeman. Drive the damn ball. You're not a three point shooter. And Nigel you have to drive the ball there.

Nigel has really disappointed lately. He's disappeared.

Oh hey Freeman! Take that 3. Yeah. Good idea. Literally stop trying to have an offensive game. I've counted 6 misses. Even with our low pts/100 possessions that's still 6 points we would otherwise get.

Corey out of control...goodbye.****ing stupid...you have to play smarter.....whether the refs are bad or good the game is being called one way, you have to understand that and play in control

Bac, just STFU with your constant defending of the refs.
You are as annoying as the Star Liar.

The 5th foul on Corey was total horse shit.
(The 4th on Corey was all on him.)

We had our chances even without the points from the FTs we missed. If we drain a reasonable % of those FTs we are ahead in this game down the stretch.

Well at the end our record may look like a joke , but I think we've made some nice strides.

There were three possession when we were tied or down one and we whiffed on all three. Thiam made two nice threes, but when he was called on to make one for us to finally take the lead, he didn't set his feet and threw up a brick from the side. God, I hope Geo Baker is the real deal. We desperately need a three point shooter.

I have no problem with that score, that much time remaining and that much room with Freeman taking the three. He has not taken many, but he has not looked bad on the ones that he has taken.

Another game lost due to our inability to make free throws

It's my biggest criticism of our coach this year.
I have no doubt he is working on it since it is so obvious. Players cannot all shoot from the line, and some are atrocious. Our guys happen to be collectively bad from the line and whatever the staff is trying isn't working.

A coach CAN'T MAKE THE FT'S for them. The can practice until the cows come home but it won't matter in a game situation.

Another case of doing the right things wrong or the wrong things right.
Seems to be our one constant, almost every game. At least we're close.

He's made 2 all season.

Losing is unacceptable but with Rutgers playing close games its considered a moral victory.Sadly ,another winnable game turns out to be another defeat 70-64 because the opponent had a player that made the big shots in crunch time while Rutgers shot bricks.

If we had someone who could shoot from 3 we would win at least another 6 games. It would open up so many things underneath for us, which would open up things outside. It is amazing how we are in almost every game with no shooters. Add one to the mix and it changes the whole complexion of our offense.

He's not taking him. They're lousy shooters.

Our ineptitude at the FT line is inexcusable and is ultimately on the coach cause it is clearly mental.

Don't get me wrong I love the guy and think he's doing a great job. I was just pointing out that this is my biggest criticism of him. And I guarantee you in the postseason press conference he will take blame for it.

Come on man. That's overly simplistic. With that logic why do we even have coaches?

Clearly it is something mental with the team which is why I am putting it on the coach. As I said in my other post I guarantee you he takes responsibility for it after the season.

Doesn't make him a bad coach. I love the guy. But he's not infallible and I bet you he will tell you that he wished he figured out a way to address it during the season.
