THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-MARYLAND PREDICTION THREAD

Rocky III was on AMC last night. Pain was his response to the question "Prediction?"

I'd guess MD -24.

We need to keep the pace down and be efficient offensively in the 1st 10 minutes to have a chance to keep it relatively close.

MD was down 10+ with 7-8 minutes left at home to PSU.

Corey Sanders is so important in this game. If he is off i can see a 40+ loss.

Actually I think it will be a quick night. At least Jake should get plenty of run.

I wouldn't read too much into the PSU game other than as evidence that MD can win in multiple ways. Maryland, which is the 3rd best shooting team in the nation, shot like poop in the first half against Penn State. Everybody except was off that night. Could be due to the fact that the Terps played one game in two weeks.

If Maryland plays with the defensive intensity it used against Northwestern, tomorrow will be a long night for Rutgers. I'd go with MD -20.5 or so.

Looking at MD......

Like IU incredible effective FG%, but high TOs (not as bad as IU).

Very interesting.....they are a chamelion when it comes to tempo. overall they are 67.9 possessions or 261st.
vs. UNC (74.1 23rd) and Marshall (78.9 3rd) they played an uptempo game...78 and 79 possessions (both even above opponents average)
vs. rider (65.3 335rd) and Cleveland State (65.8 328th).......57 and 58

I really think we want to keep it in the low 60s or lower. we average 71.1 possessions 111th. That means not getting out in transition and a lot of possession of Daniels and Sanders with the ball in their hands with 5 seconds left. We must shorten the game. With 7 healthy players (just a guess) it's our only chance

The Rutgers bench including walk ons will probably see lots of playing time in the second half.

Maryland 79 Rutgers 58

Their performances against Cleveland State and Rider would suggest they don't take these kind of games too seriously. Might keep the score within thirty.

I would take Rutgers with the points here. I can't see Maryland being all that interested.

I never participate in these threads, but with only 7 players, Foreman not even 100%, no frontline reserves ... 40 might be good.

You are Turgeon...do you do anything different knowing that Rutgers has nothing up front. Sometimes changing game plans plays in to the hands of your opponent

Turgeon isn't going to blow any team out by thirty or forty, especially a conference opponent whose luck is currently down. He plays a lot of backups and walk-ons when the game is out of hand. I'd expect that if the game goes that way (and who's to say it will?)

He may then need to tell the backups and walkons that all 5 needs to touch the ball and they have to wait at least 30 seconds before shooting.
