THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-OHIO STATE PREDICTION THREAD

I don't know if Urban can call off the dogs when you are working towards a playoff spot and everyone looks at scores.

We get crushed in the first half 35-0 with Laviano in. Oden gets put in in the second half and we make a furious comeback but fall short.

OSU 49
RU 38
RU 37 OSU 31 we overcome a 28-0 deficit and Olden comes in and leads us to an upset win

I don't normally do these. Last year was 49-7. I think we're a bit better on D and O but the injuries are going to hurt. Add in homecoming and Schiano... and I still won't predict.

Ohio state 45 , Rutgers 0.
We get inside the 10 twice in the second half but questionable play calls keep us off the board .
Flood would have kicked the fg and jumped up and down .

I don't expect us to score -- particularly with Grant unable to make a contribution on special teams -- but I think our defense is good enough to hold OSU to no more than 30.

The problem is tOSU's "D" can/may/will score a couple of TDs, too. Their D has given up only two TDs in three games so far, and scored four TDs themselves.

Ohio State 48

500 Rutgers fans in attendance. RU will claim 5,000 made the trip.

I don't see OSU running up the score against Rutgers. Just too many connections. I see it 41-10, tOSU

Our road game attendance in the B1G, thus far, has been seriously lackluster and only a few here have even attempted to claim otherwise. I blame this on the previous regime. Lots and lots of people I know stopped "traveling" while we were under the previous regime. We DO travel well however, when things are going well, so I'm going to give RU fans a "mulligan" until the effects of the previous regime where off in a couple of years.

That being said, dude, your act is getting old real quick. SMH.

How is the Rutgers run defense?

OSU's bread and butter is running the football, and then passing the ball off of that. If you can stop the run (at least a little bit) then things get a lot tougher for OSU, forcing Barrett to complete third and longs. Tulsa was somehow able to do this for a half very effectively. Unfortunately for them the OSU defense scored twice in that time, and Urban made halftime adjustments, leading to a 48-3 final score.

Oklahoma was supposed to have a solid run defense but couldn't stop anything on the ground. Surprisingly Tulsa was more effective defensively than OU.

Winning never gets old. I enjoyed schooling you in the attendance thread when you quoted some Iowa message board poster to back up your inflated attendance numbers. The problem is you'd just finished admonishing me for quoting an Iowa newspaper reporter who tweeted from the game to say that attendance was far lower than 44k! You looked quite ridiculous once the contradiction was pointed out and I guess I'd be upset about it too if I were you.

It should be an intersting matchup on the ground. You guys have a decent running game but our D hasn't given up a rushing TD this year.

I predict a tOSU win. Urban will put in ther backups if we get up early but not sure how much he will back off. with teams ranked behind us playing other top ten teams he may need style points.

This our third year in the B1G. The first two years we traveled very well to OSU and PSU. Considering the distance it's a lot to ask our fans to travel very well for More than one game. This year I will agree with you that travel will not be good.

Changing my prediction....

Rutgers hangs EXTREMELY tough for almost 3 quarters and finds away with the spread to score some points this week...(it is a Schaino defense...lol)....so its 28-21 late third when we make a costly turnover

Ohio State then shows why it is number 2

A deceptive final...

#2 Ohio State 49
Rutgers 21

The score will be what Urban Meyer wants it to be. He will be the judge, jury and executioner. If he decides to push his team to the very last second he could hang 70 points on us, if bestows mercy on us then he beats us by 21pts. If I could read his mind I would be on a plane to Vegas.

A shutout is in order. 56-00

Congrats to the above posters for having the closest predictions. Your prize pack is waiting in the Horeshoe visitor end zone.
