Is you have hope/expectations that this team is meant to have something special happen this year. The guys rutgered this game like they did the last 2, like every team ever had for this college. Just sit back and relax and expect a letdown this year. All of this is out of your hands anyway, so why get mad or upset about an outcome that keeps hitting us in the head every year

I’m not trying to piss people off or troll. I’m just so over it. Games like this are the Rutgers way. Last week’s football game was the Rutgers way. I’ve just accepted it

Pretty much feels like a troll. If you’re over it, why post on here?

I’m just trying to tell all of you that it isn’t worth getting mad about this. What’s the point to get mad or disappointed??

If you’re not mad or disappointed when they loae than you aren’t that happy/giddy when they win. They are inversely proportional. And if you aren’t are you even a fan. If you’re stomach isn’t in knots after a loss why even bother watching or following. If it doesn’t matter why watch or follow team? Don’t get it

Fans are rightfully upset because Bailey and Harper are elite players and Rutgers still can't win games on the road. The supporting cast is deeply disappointing and the coaching staff is struggling with substituting players and not getting positive results.

Lack of NIL matters whether you fake die hards want to admit it or not. Great we have two lottery picks and Pike desperately wanted a Center and you all k ow how that ended up. Why is that not discussed? More convenient to shit on Pike.

It’s easier for our tightwad fanbase to deflect.

So what's the solution?
Rutgers is obviously not going to magically get a ton of NIL overnight.

Drop the program?
Move down to the CAA?

The constant complaining about lack of NIL is just as useless as the "complaining without donating" that you rail against in every thread.

If fans want to be like Alabama or Kansas mbb they need to put up or zip it. A lot of the coaches greatness is with the bags o money.

If you think we wouldn’t be as good as Kansas with 4 mil they spent vs 750k which is average p5 spend you have your head in the sand.

Who said we wouldn’t be as good if we had similar NIL?
You’re making up stuff.

Are we ever (or in the near to medium term at least) ever going to have similar NIL as Kansas or Alabama?

Presuming the answer is no - what’s your plan for improving the program?
We just don’t improve? Drop down conference or to lower level athletics?

All of the “our fan base is too cheap” posters offer zero solutions or alternatives.
It’s just “we need more money”.

No sh!t, Sherlock. But that’s not happening.
So stop whining about it and offer an option with what we do have.

You need the Athletic Department and school to be active participants in NIL.

We most definitely have improved under Pike and Schiano. Where we are today especially in football and mbb is because of increased investment in athletics.

Rather than screwing the gymnastics coach we need an AD and full team pounding the pavement for NIL.

We might not be able to get to 4mm but we can do better. If we had another 500k for basketball maybe we have another center and Allocco.

Name one program without good nil that would meet our fan base’s expectations year in year out.

Solution to what? The solution is to keep trying our best with what we have. Believe it or not the university doesn't shut down if we never make it to the sweet 16.

I agree.
That was supposed to be foe the "stop complaining. We have no NIL so stop expecting results. People here complain but don't donate to NIL so we'll never get better. Our fanbase is cheap and just likes complaining without supporting the program."

I don't believe that's you.

You’re so over it, yet you posted a diatribe about it. Stop trying to lecture other fans about how they are supposed to feel about the season or what they’re expectations should be going forward.

Schiano and Pikiell have performed miracles, without Nil, without a fieldhouse, sometimes with near empty stadiums. We were the worst D1 programs on the planet to now being excited to watch every game with a respectable chance of winning.
Amen

The real problem is regular season expectations. This is a bubble team. That’s our regular season expectation. 18-21 wins is what an impartial observer would expect a coach who would have a successful season is to get somewhere in that range.

The excitement should be that IF we get there, anything can happen with our freshman who can seemingly take over games, make something out of nothing, and give us a dream in any tournament game we may play in.

Please expand. What do you know?
Everyone knows this as it has been discussed on the boards extensively. Dillion and Ace are here because they love Rutgers and Pike but both are getting non Rutgers related NIL deals from a sneaker company and a multi media company. Our NILwas enough to get us absolutely no one and it’s showing in our last 2 losses.

As someone who donates (within my limited means), it definitely sticks in my craw to listen to morons who don't contribute that have super high expectations and then complain about everything when their stupid expectations aren't met.

It is head scratching that we cannot get 5000 folks donate on average $20/mo for mbb. That would give 1.2mm a year.

Just a thought why can’t we change seat donation to include a collective donation portion.

I contribute and I’m certain it’s just a drop in the bucket but I do what I can...and frustratingly have for 35 years. Sounds like Pike and the team were almost given a gift of Ace and Harper. Pike got some borderline B1G transfers in but his glaring omission is a serviceable big man. People say he tried but he’s being paid 3.25 million per year to figure it out and the bottom line is it didn’t happen. Excuses.

Give it 5 more games for the players and coaches to figure it out. If they don’t, then panic. Something tells me that they will figure it out.
I agree; Pike and the team will likely figure it out.

Last season I was one of the guys bitching about how Pike was using Gavin Griffiths. I was 100% wrong.

So this year, although I still have opinions, I'll let them rest more lightly until events prove otherwise.

so you’re saying they gave up additional millions of dollars nil at other schools that would top off the endorsement nil because they love rutgers? They’re both nice kids, but they’re not chumps! How could you believe such bs?

Oh, so everyone knows this. OK. So if the NIL sneaker and multimedia deals are not Rutgers related, why didn't Ace & Dylan get those deals and then also get NIL money from boosters at other schools? Because they love Rutgers and Pike, you say?

Oh, and Trilly Donovan says that the RU NIL deal involved Goldman Sachs. What did everyone who knows about this tell you about that?
