Revenue from Big Ten TV, Rutgers merchandise, Corp sponsors, ticket sales, donors, etc. that previous Rutgers ADs couldn’t even imagine. AND hopefully some beginning stage of a Rutgers Hockey program plus an actual baseball stadium.:Rutgers:CHOP:

2024 - host PSU in Sept.
Thinking this wouldn’t be an “upset” because we are favored.

If Schiano can't go 8-4 at least once in 10 years, I think you have to consider his tenure here a failure.

If Schiano can't achieve at least 2 of wins over PSU/Mich/OSU in 10 years, I think you need to consider his tenure here a failure.

We didn't hire a coach with an essentially lifetime contract demanded by fans, in order to have him automatically lose 3 of our conference games each season. If we are not a point by mid-decade where we go into every game with the expectation that we can win the game, then we picked the wrong coach. That doesn't mean we have to win every game, but we should have a realistic chance of winning.

AKA the UM Harbaugh model..
Though Harbaugh is not automatically losing to 3 conference foes each season. In his 5 years at Michigan, the only conference foe he is consistently losing to is Ohio State. Obviously losing to Ohio State 5 years in a row is a big black eye for a Michigan coach. If Harbaugh's tenure at Michigan lasts for 10 years, and he never manages to beat Ohio State, I don't see him being there for 11 years.

A 9-3 football season and New Year’s Day bowl .
Men’s basketball makes the ncaa tournament and wins a game .
Tournament appearance and win is vacated by Rutgers due to compliance violation that would be minor anywhere else.
Vivian Stringer doesn’t retire .
Hobbs finally wins, but is fired for something considered minor at most other places....see basketball tournament vacation .
Flood and his 2012 big east championship team is honored at 10 year anniversary in 2022.
Eric gets out of the chair.

Any year above 6 regular season wins will be fantastic success.

We play and incredibly difficult schedule. Our opponents are #2, 10, 14, 16, 18. Plus bowls teams Indiana, Illinois, Liberty, Boston College and Michigan State. Wow!

Year in and year out, it’s a gauntlet. Let’s somehow claw our way to 6 wins, then we can talk about the future.

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or not. I am hoping it is, because calling 6 wins a "fantastic success" over the course of a decade is an incredibly low bar.

Very true. Six wins is a tall challenge at this point and will likely take years for RU FB to get there.

But once there the next step is 8 wins. That will take a while longer to achieve.

This is no quick fix for Greg. There will be setbacks along the way. That’s why the phrase All-in.

Six wins next year would be an unexpected success. But if we have to wait until 2028 to get to six wins, and then start talking about whether we can get to 8 wins withing the following 10 years, then we hired the wrong coach.

There seems to be a troubling trend among some of those who pushed for Schiano where they set very high promises of success before Schiano was hired, and now are setting the success bar at Kyle Flood levels or lower. In actuality, the determination of success for Schiano is the same as it would have been for any other coach. He doesn't get a lower bar because he's Greg Schiano.

6 wins will be glorious. Just remember the fools who called for Schiano to be fired just before he left. Dumb!

6 wins by 2027 is success. More than six wins in any season will be fantastic success.

It will take a long long long long time to regularly get more than 6 wins.

OSU, PSU, MSU, M have a HUGE head start.
And everybody else is way ahead of us too!
It’s amazing how far we have come so far.

See the glass as half full or you will be disappointed for the rest of your life. We have our Coach back, a Rutgers man, enjoy!

If it takes us 8 seasons to get to 6 wins, that will be incredibly disappointing. If that's the case, we should have just kept Kyle Flood.

I hope Schiano has higher expectations.

Flood wouldn’t get us 6 wins .

I have always wanted to watch RU play wherein every player was playing at close to his Top Game.If our staff can bring in good players, develop them to their potential and turn them loose on game day,THEN,I will have an opportunity to watch the type of game to which I am referring.WTB it WILL be done

6 wins by 2027 is a waste of time, esp with improved recruiting, grad transfers, and transfer portal. 6 wins by 2022 is more like it. Then build from there by starting to beat the Minnesotas, MSUs, Iowas, etc. And eventually if things are going as planned, more in state kids stay home to compete vs the PSUs, Ohios and Michigans.

Flood got us to 7 wins in the Big Ten (8 wins including a bowl win).

I give him credit for that . It was with schiano’s players, however . Flood also got steamrolled in the aac the year before and the BIG the year after . Should have been fired in 2013 . You weren’t going to see a bowl game again with flood. He was replacing the schiano guys with “flood’s duds.”

I'm not suggesting that Flood was a successful head coach. But if Schiano 2.0 takes 8 seasons to get us to six wins, as was suggested in this thread, then Schiano 2.0 is a lot closer to Flood than to Schiano 1.0.
