The more I think about the issues that RU experiences across the board with money being high in the list, we need to start trying new things.
That's what has always caused issues for me with our football team and schemes. We know we don't always have the horses to compete against some other teams yet we don't try anything different in our approach.
I think this is how we need to approach an eventual coaching search as well. Just throwing money at a top coach does not guarantee wins. It does not guarantee recruits(it helps). Maybe we should take a flier and do something different.
First and foremost, we as a fanbase need to start setting our own destiny by committing to this entire program via donations. That will go a long way! The more I have been reading about Joe Moglia, the more intrigued I am to see him as our next coach. Totally outside the box but brings the "running a business" approach to a program which can huge benefits for us.
As much as I would want a top name coach to bring in talent and a brand here, I just see us being inhibited by $$$.
Thoughts?
