This class has a chance to be our best or second best ever

As recently as a few weeks ago, it looked like we might not get a single four star, which was pretty disappointing after the hype for the class early on.

But it seems to be that Rene's commitment has helped turn things around in a big way.

Now, I don't want to kid myself...what I am talking about is "running the table" with the top remaining targets, which is not exactly guaranteed, but consider we have a legitimate shot...not a "chance" or a "prayer," but an honest to goodness good shot with the following four stars:

Kelvin Harmon (probably >50%)
Jovani Haskins (probably 50% at least)
Malcolm Pridgeon (I'd say 50/50)
Johncarlo Valentin (Let's call it a 33% chance...maybe better if Michigan fills up on higher OL)


We could miss on all of them, but if we landed all of them we would have five four star recruits, and probably when all is said and done only two or maybe three two stars. I think that would make this class easily better than 2011, definitely better than the 2014 class before it fell apart, and probably only behind 2012.

I didn't think this would be in the realm of possibility at the beginning of summer. Even if we only get two of those guys it might be close to 2011.

Going by Rivals, one five star and 4 four stars in the 2012 class. and only one 2 star. So even if we run the table on the guys listed we still fall behind that class. 2011 had four 4 stars. 2009 had four 4 stars. 2008 had three 4 stars.

So while I do like this 2016 class, and think some of the 2 star guys are the most exciting of the bunch, we are still a ways off from best class ever.
