We were competitive in those games with the same talent (except Grant). How did it get so bad?

Those games were complete meltdowns by our opponents. In those, many of our points came from defense.

team gave up and other teams took RU lightly. Indiana turned the ball over many times but dominated the 2nd half and deserved the win. Minnesota had no film to work with Gio so they were caught by surprise. Iowa was struggling early and played down. I agree it was our best effort of the season defensively

Com'on man making excuses for why we played tight games against Iowa and Minny? Really? We had MORE YARDAGE than either of them in each of the losses. We played well against those teams because they're NOT overly athletic or fast. More team speed (see: Grant injured but nobody else in the fold...) and we win those games.

Indian should have had 60 pts. They were turning it over ,and missing FG's all over the place.
Any football fan knows you can't do the "we beat them and they beat the other guys" theory. Every game is different. Turnovers, motivation, etc., all come into play.
