There is a lot of mocking of those "grown" men on here that follow these kids, but it seems the info and pretty good speculation they are able to come up with, prove to be right more than wrong. In fact, it doesn't seem much different to me than the way info is gathered about recruits the old fashion way, just saying.

Most of the twitter based threads here turned out to be wrong, because people are following fake accounts and reading way to much into joke posts, etc.

Twitter is a very powerful tool and will allow you to get information very quickly, but only if you know how to use it, which many people do not appear to have figured this out yet.

With pay site, there is no guess work. You just have to pay for it.

I think the point is that kids are becoming more self-oriented with their social media interactions.

Russo's de-commit was broken on Twitter last night, by Anthony himself. So the whole Twitterverse knew about it, in advance of any "Premium" article on a recruiting web site.

This is becoming the norm.

To the OP's point, this sort of behavior is imposing a certain obsolescence on Premium-based content.

Bingo. Do people know how to decipher legit Twitter accounts from fake ones? Follow the little blue twitter bird for a start at least.

News stories broken on the RT are vetted/researched by a professional journalist. Twitter who knows where its form.

The Russo situation is different in that he wanted to announce his de-commitment without having to do an interview. Therefore he released the announcement directly. He probably felt that if he spoke to this site he would have to speak with all those covering RU football. Smart move.

These boards are old school. I'd guess the average age of premium poster is probably 45+, and non premium might be 32+.

I figured out how technologically challenged people were on here with the fire flood issue. So many people couldn't understand how it worked, it reminded me of trying to teach my grandma how to buy something online.

You just need to understand you are dealing with a mixed crowd.

Usually any article about a decommit isn't premium.

I draw a dinstiction on twitter. It is a great source of information if you know what to look for. You pay for premium because it is a passive way to gather info. Twitter on the other hand is an active tool, you need to dig. Somthey are different.

That said connecting the dots yesterday after the OPmsaid he was a goner was easy. I saw that Haskins was likely to chose OSU over LSU. I searched LSU QB, and saw a pending news on an LSU target. I posted the tweet here, and five minutes later He decommitted. I was monitoring his feed and got the new 25 seconds after he posted it. I was able to do that because I was riding my train home. If wasn't during that hour, I would have seen it here....because i have a life and can't surf twitter all day....hence using a premium service search for you still has value!

There are lots of sources of information. Some people refuse to read NJ.com or On The Banks, but they have some good stuff sometimes. I think you should look everywhere. Every source has it's pluses and minuses.
