- Stony Brook is 4-8 on the season
- Only common opponent to date is Michigan State whom Stony Brook lost by 22 at MSU as we lost to them by 10 on our home court.
- Notable losses to date include Maryland by 15 at the Nassau Coliseum; AT UConn by 8 and at Providence by 2 yesterday.
- Wins to date are against Brown; St Francis PA and Columbia.
- Head Coach is Jeff Boals who was Thad Motta's right hand guy for 7 years at Ohio State.
- Leading Scorer is Akwasi Yeboah (#15) who is averaging 13.9 PPG and Jason Cornish (#00) who is averaging 11.1 PPG.

I can tell you this:

- From the scores above, we better not take Stony Brook lightly and we better be on our game.
- It's a shame Jay Young is not the HC for Stony Brook from Jay Young's perspective. Being self-centered glad he's our Associate HC. Based on 2 years of assessing him, Stony Brook made a mistake not hiring him. Seems like a terrific teacher and X and O's guy and I think Pikiell trusts him the most.
- Per the eye test yesterday watching some of their game vs Providence, they're a decent squad.
- I'm sure Pikiell and Young will do what they can to get our squad motivated given their history at Stony Brook.
- I'm concerned about a slow start given what occurred on Saturday vs Seton Hall and a crowd and student section that will be a fraction of what it was on Saturday. Think it's just natural.

Like everything you said except “ It's a shame Jay Young is not the HC for Stony Brook”.

Really concerned about a let down against Stonybrook. Watching Indiana get trounced by Fort Wayne at home tonight after upsetting Notre Dame on Saturday drove that point home!

Stony Brook is in good hands. We don't know the reasons why he wasn't giving the opportunity at SBU, but Pikiell believes in Young and I'm glad he is with us. I hope that in the near future all of our assistants move on to bigger jobs and I fully expect Pikiell to reload with top assistants.

Totally agree here. Watched the game too. This group should not be taken lightly, they are good.

After beating SHU,,,,,,this team would have to tank to lose to Stony Brook....wont happen
Literally no reason to be this confident. We aren’t at the point where we just need to show up to win. Boys better come to work on Friday or it could get uncomfortable quickly. Hope that’s not the case, of course, but I agree with OP to be weary of SBU.
