Tim Pernetti working again for RU

Good for TIm..yes his hiring of EJ was bad,and yes Barchi threw Tim under the bus..but for all the non informed(see above)..without Tim ,RU would still be in the AAC with Temple..so get a grip a few of you other posters..SMFH.....

Tim did not hire EJ & RU was going to the B1G regardless of if Tim was the RU AD or you were the RU AD.

He was hired to save the recruiting class and that was successful. As for everything else, it's a different story.

I think Flood saving the recruiting class is largely a fallacy. We may have lost a few kids, but the reality of the story is that the vast majority of the recruiting class wasn't going anywhere with only a couple of days remaining before signing day. It was simply too late in the game. Most other classes were filled by that point and there wasn't enough time left to effectively re-establish relationships with new schools/coaches. The due diligence process that takes place on behalf of both a recruit and a school happens over months or years, not days.

Alright, let me correct this urban legend right now.

#1 The timing of Schiano's departure did not leave enough time for our commits to find other schools. So, the timing contributed.

#2 The REAL reason, why that class stayed intact was because of the members of that class itself. Especially the PA recruits. They called a meeting and made a pact to stay together.

#3 The third contributing factor was some of the guys from the prior year (2011), especially in Jersey, were friends with members of the 2012 class and heavily influenced those guys. The Shulers especially had a lot of influence. At that time, the whole "stay in Jersey and rep your state" movement was very strong among many of NJ's elite recruits. This is why I laugh when people say the whole "fence the garden" mentality will never work here. Uhm, yeah it did. For a while it did, albeit very brief.

#4 The hiring of Flood (as the individual) wasn't done to save the recruiting class per se. Most of those guys couldn't care less - Flood wasn't their recruiter. Flood sucked at recruiting. What was important was we needed to hire a coach ASAP - and since the deal with Cristobal didn't work out and time was running out, Pernetti panicked and went the easy route. What that whole episode showed, which kinda got lost, is how incredibly ineffective Pernetti was at hiring coaches - not just in selecting Flood, but that he had very little options.

Yes it did make sense at the time, we were a week away from
signing day, and he saved all the recruits, not losing them like what's
happening now. So when he started messing up it was Julie who was
on the phone begging for money, maybe Tim would have handled it better.
Definitely better than Julie.

Both of his hires made sense at the time, but man, did they set the programs back.
No, they really didnt. Both turned out exactly the way that critics at the time said they would, and pretty quickly. If random message board posters could see this, then the AD should certainly be held accountable for ignoring them., or wishful thinking, or just being bad at picking personnel.

We are losing players now because there were two months, not two days to go before signing day. We saw in 2013/14 just how ineffective Flood was at holding on to recruits when he had time to lose them.

As for Tim being better than Julie. We are going to have what is likely to be our best overall year for athletics since they started tracking in the mid 90s unless the spring sports are just terrible. Maybe Tim would have had a basketball facility in place by now, but then again - I think the plan that was developed under Julie is better and more comprehensive than the one Tim had - so perhaps even THAT will end up being a blessing in disguise. We waited two or three more years than we would have, but will end up with something much nicer than Pernetti's proposal.

Tim isn't working for Rutgers. The company Tim works for is now taking over tickets sales for Rutgers with no involvement from Tim.

My Rep, Analisa Trstensky

Analisa is my rep and whenever she would call me in the morning I would skip my morning cup of coffee. Her voice was nothing less than a sudden jolt of energy. Talk about a morning pick me up.

Still need a source tho... I thought the ticket office was doing a great job. 31k/52k is pretty impressive. Why would they walk away from that?

Analisa is also my ticket rep and she does a great job. Always calls before deadlines, remembers things about my family and as Sid above, very energetic.
I hope that any change here does not result in her losing her job.

He is not President of IMG College. He is President of Multimedia for IMG College which is a division of IMG Worldwide, which is part of WME IMG.

With the help of Big Ten money, which Tim reaped and someone else will sow.

Ok let's close the book on tim. Whether or not he had anything to do with getting us into the big ten is debatable at best . His horrible coaching decisions are not debatable . So he may have had something to do with something good , and he was definitely horrendous in another . Bad AD
