We have already heard Rettig is leaving. Every program seems to have at least 5 transfers out each year. Assuming we get that too (probably players who don't fit into the new style Ash has introduced) do we risk hitting the limit for next year of schollies?

I think we are only allowed 25 recruits a year.

if we get 25 recruits in the HS 2017 class are we able to add a few more who are upper class man transfers to replace the 2nd and 3rd year players who leave? For Rettig can we replace him with a graduate transfer?

We can go over the 25 a year rule, since it looks like we will have 3 early enrollees. We can bring in other transfers, as long as we remain under the 85 scholarship limitZ

You can have a certain number (5?) of early enrollees that don't count toward the 25 recruit limit so 30 is possible. You can also greyshirt (Enroll the following January).

As always it's the 85 total limit that you need to be more concerned with when you sign recruits.

We need to bring in some talent that meets the Ash system and can contribute at the B10 level. Hopefully the young players can develop to the B10 level for next year.

I believe greyshirting is no longer an option. I think the NCAA outlawed it. There is another option now but not sure what its called or how it works.

Also the Big 10 allows you to over sign by 3 so it isn't 25 it's technically 28.

So really 33 including 5 early enrollees.

Some of that depends on the numbers signed in last years class. It seems the number of EE can fluctuate and it doesn't match up with the 25/28 or the 85 limit. It has to do with when players transfer in relation to the academic calendar.
