ttfp Game Tix

This is great information thank you. Our bus has tailgating bus parking so we are good but this is excellent information for anyone driving themselves to the game
Since you're taking a bus I'll give you a secret...the Northwest corner of the stadium has a 35 - 50 foot wide grass platform above the parking lots, right against the stadium wall. If you get there early enough (a couple of hours should do) you'll be able to setup a nice size tailgate. Bring a canopy, grill, and all the food and drink you can carry. My nieces and nephews are always setup there and it works perfectly. They tear down right before kickoff and put their stuff back in the bus since their bus usually leaves right after the game is over.

I haven't seen parking mentioned, so here goes. Get parking ticket in advance ($10) vs game day parking ($40). They do this so that the traffic controllers can direct you to the correct lot based on your ticket color. Without a ticket you'll cause confusion and a traffic jam. You could also attempt to purchase a good spot near the stadium for premium tailgating opportunities. A good parking spot will cost more than $10 but you won't be in a field a mile from the stadium when attempting to find your car at 11:30PM.

How far in advance can you buy parking passes? I looked online and it shows 2014 info and the link to football parking is not working. Can I safely assume it's the yellow lots we are buying passes for? Can we specify which yellow lot so we can attempt to park together?
Thanks!

Parking goes on sale on the 7th, but Brandon told me to wait a day or two until the phone lines aren't so busy with ticket requests.

DO not pay extra for Yellow parking pass. It is just pre paid parking. The deadline for the Rutgers game is Wed., September 9 @ 5 pm. They don't sell out so you can order anytime. Some people try to pass it off as premium parking. The only way to park together is to arrive together. All lots are filled first come. They do not allow holding spaces.

Ok, I just checked on the latest data. It looks like advanced parking has gone up to $15. Ten days advance will cost you $2.25 in service fees. These will be in the Yellow lots, which are unnumbered and are first come first serve so unless you arrive together you not park together. Further more, if you look at the parking map you see that you may be spread all over the place. I recommend you find some reserve tickets... call and ask but it's unlikely since the season ticket holders jump on these. I use Craigslist and can always get them. Stub Hub is also an option. I posted a link below which should answer all your questions.

Another option for those not tailgating...I sometimes park at The Penn Stater (look it up). Parking is free and for $10 per person they run buses through the pastures over to the Northeast corner of the stadium. Your $10 is then good for food and drink back at the Penn Stater after the game. Never tried this for a night game but it's very convenient if your not having a tailgate.

Here is the link to park: http://www.gopsusports.com/tickets/m-footbl-parking.html#gameday

Edit: I see PSU Nut answered your questions...

Thanks for the info! I guess we will try to meet somewhere and caravan in so we can park together.
Do they open lots as others fill up or can we head for a certain lot hoping to meet up there?

You'll be directed to a lot. Not sure what time the lots open but you could try getting there early and wait for opening.

In can't say this enough but if the finances are in your budget you should rent an RV.

It a little bit of both. The will fill certain lots first before they open others. Your best bet would be to meet at a place then drive in. My recommendation would be Ollie's on South Atherton Street. Then drive in together as a caravan. You just drive up Atherton and make a right on to park avenue. That is the only you can ensure a group of car can park near each other.

It would be a right onto Park from south Atherton. And they would probably be confused because KMart hasn't been there for years.

Show how much attention I pay when driving in. Thanks for correcting me though. It is now Ollie's Bargain Outlet at Hill's Plaza. There is also a Weis Market and McDonalds. Thanks guys! I really appreciate the help! Looking at the map posted above, would we be coming in from the East or West side of the stadium? For those of our group who may not be early enough to meet us, I would like to give them the general area we will be in so they can park and walk over. Since I live in PA, I know they will expect me to have a plan!

If you are turning onto Park from Atherton Street, you will be coming from the west side of campus.

JMO, but if you plan on joining another group for a tailgate that will not be at your vehicle, I would park in the East Deck (on the left side of the map above). By far it is the easiest parking lot to get out of once the game is over. While it may look like a long walk on the map,it's only about 10 minutes.

It would be coming in from the West side. It will put you in lot 12 or Lot 11 depending how early you arrive. Lot 12 will fill up first. Depending on where the majority of your group is coming from you may want to meet at Wal-Mart.. Access to the lots are limted to those entering from Atherton street (Business route 322)
