sick of all these ugly cookie cutter pieces of crap they come out with. These renderings literally took 2 minutes to make. Open rutgers.jpg in photoshop and change the text. and charge UNLV millions for the designs. Brilliant.

FWIW, I do not believe our uniforms were ever truly unique. If you look at UCF, for example, their uniforms are practically the same as ours, just with different colors.
The things that were unique to Rutgers were the helmets, the "shoulder scars" and the font for the numbers.

Oh yes the shoulder scars. Would make a great idea in a Pop Warner league but it's simply embarrassing for them to be worn in college. In college you earn your battle scars.
FWIW, I am also pretty sure those "scars" are part of what gives the uniform a "pinkish" look instead of looking solid red.
Why would they? They had to know that when we signed up for this BS that it would be copied or was already copied from somewhere else.
Just like our #s are just as easy to read in marketing photos (& red uni looks better/truer red):
I always laugh we people say that Schiano designed these. Nike makes what they want and every school goes along with their BS because they paid you big dollars. Just like having a Spring game on Friday night. You can spin it and say it was the schools or the coaches idea but in reality it's the TV network.
These schools really have no say in these things. You give up any control when you sign the contract and take the check.

I don't think those are the real UNLV uniforms. It seems it's a fan creation via photoshop. I have the exact template they used and Nike would've done a better job with the mockups. I could be wrong though.

I love the Silver Helmet. It is by far the most unique helmet in College Football.
Our uniform is in line with what other programs are going with now.

Ditto for those that come up with Rutgers being a trendsetter. When you have to make excuses for the uniforms you know they suck!
What do you mean 'were'?"scars" on a football uniform. How is that different than a Halloween costume?

From what I can see, the only similarity is in the color scheme and marketing photo. Otherwise, there aren't many actual design elements that are the same.
Also, I've heard quite a few of the players want the matte black helmets back, and that they're thinking about it. Athletic department is also looking into fixing the visibility issue for the numbers.

Our uniforms should be entirely black.
Black pants, black jerseys, black helmets, black sox, black shoes, black numbers and black accessories.
Then they'd look good.

we're the scarlet knights, that should always be the primary color.
Black looks cool as an alternative.
Just to clarify, would these be glow in the dark black numbers on the black jerseys?
Seriously though, unlike all you apparent fashionistas, I don't care what our uniforms look like as long as the numbers are easily readable throughout the stadium in all types of weather. Okay fine, they can be slightly difficult to read in dense fog. But that's as far as I'm willing to compromise. Make it so.
I'm out of touch with reality?? Haha. I don't make my life's mission to collect every version of the Rutgers helmet. I have a life in the real world. Your P.T. Barnum ' s definition of a sucker born every minute.
Uniforms don't matter to me, just the men in them representing the name on the front well
Well Rutgers IS in the Big Ten. I'm glad your happy to be sharing unis with a last place team in the Mountain West

i like the font used for "REBELS" better than the font on our's. Otherwise i like our uniforms a little better. Stripes on shoulders and helmets for example.These seem oddly familiar...
