Agree about the video, I am also excited for the season. 125-looking forward to this competition. Peterson seems very focused.....I think he will be the starter once they settle on a lineup. 133-Heilman will be very solid-Round of 16 last year, can he punch thru this season? 141-always been high on Sammy, think he will AA(I did think it was an interesting comment from Goodale that Olivieri was chomping at the bit to compete....so Sammy needs to stay focused all year). 149-White-should be solid, needs some big early wins. As Coach said, Redshirt results do not really matter once you are the guy, it is a different season. 157 and 165- looking forward to both competing at their natural weights. 174-Turley, if can stay healthy should be fun to watch again. 184-Soldano-unless he does not look good in his 5 "free" matches he will be the starter. 197-Janzer-hopefully stays healthy, still think he will be a little under-sized, but will still be a tuff out each match. Hwt-Big10 loaded at HWT-looking forward to full sized Boone.Great video by Goodale. He has me pumped for the season. Said most guys are healthy and we have a good dual meet team. Believes that Sammy can beat anyone at his weight. He just needs to be all in. Praised all the guys even though some are not tested. This could be a special season - I know we say that every year. But, he was really upbeat.
Only downside is that season ticket sales are much lower being around 2,000. That is over a 30% drop off from last year. He referred to only 4 home matches at Jersey Mikes. Some New Jersey fans that I know say they are losing interest in the program. If Goody is right, they will be surprised and sorry they didn’t renew their tickets.
That they're excited and the room is energetic and full of talent.I enjoyed hearing from Goodale. As many of you might expect. I look at his body language and listen carefully to his choice of words. Has anyone else picked up on anything?
Yes, those were the obligatory messages. That they're excited and the room is energetic and full of talent.
Yes, he has questions about Sammy's commitment. Time will tell. Maybe a short amount of time. His comments on Sammy made me think this Goodale is in now or never mode with Sammy.
I got the sense that Goodale felt that Sammy has been playing them. It is now or never for Sammy. He implied that Sammy can beat anyone in the country. He seemed feed up with a kid who has so much potential.Yes, he has questions about Sammy's commitment. Time will tell. Maybe a short amount of time.
I had not gotten quite that much out of it but it was plenty obvious Goodale has doubts. I reflected back to where the usual characters in another thread told us to stop questioning Sammy's commitment. Goodale didn't get the memo.I got the sense that Goodale felt that Sammy has been playing them. It is now or never for Sammy. He implied that Sammy can beat anyone in the country. Olivieri is currently scheduled to redshirt. I wonder if he and Sammy have faced off in an "indicator" match and what the result was. It sounded like Olivieri wants to wrestle.I got the sense that Goodale felt that Sammy has been playing them. It is now or never for Sammy. He implied that Sammy can beat anyone in the country. Have you ever attended practice? If not you should go once a week . See the level of commitment yourselfI had not gotten quite that much out of it but it was plenty obvious Goodale has doubts. He needs a better coffee cup with RU logo? Anybody with a pulse can see he questions what's going to happen at 141 or 184 or 197I enjoyed hearing from Goodale. As many of you might expect. I wish I could. I'd enjoy sitting with Bill and meeting some others. In particular, I'd like to meet Poz, shake his (sweaty) hand and tell him how impressed I've been.Have you ever attended practice? If not you should go once a week . See the level of commitment yourself
Why would a Penn State fan go to a Rutgers practice?Have you ever attended practice? If not you should go once a week . See the level of commitment yourself
Sammy indicated that he is very tough to go up against at practice, specifically around handfighting.Olivieri is currently scheduled to redshirt. I wonder if he and Sammy have faced off in an "indicator" match and what the result was. It sounded like Olivieri wants to wrestle.
I don't follow things around here that close I'm not sure who's who or pretending to be whoWhy would a Penn State fan go to a Rutgers practice?
Don't pay any attention. SCNJ doesn't like what I have to say and can't formulate an intelligent response, so he blurts out what he thinks is an insult. People should use their own reasoning skills. I'm someone that wants to see Rutgers improve, so I must be a Penn State fan. That's special.I don't follow things around here that close I'm not sure who's who or pretending to be who
Commitment and discipline are mutually exclusive?Goodale didn’t question his commitment. He said he is super talented but needs to be more disciplined with his diet.
"He" being Olivieri? I hope Sammy is ready to go and committed to doing what it takes; it will be best for the team if he lives up to his potential. However, if Olivieri can beat him, he deserves the spot. I wonder if the two faced off in "indicator" matches?Sammy indicated that he is very tough to go up against at practice, specifically around handfighting.
Do u ever say anything meaningful ...you called me a troll when i joined and said i was someone else lol.....this guy is a supposed PSU fan ...everyone but you can't possibly be an RU fan according to you ..grow the Hell up...it's getting old .Why would a Penn State fan go to a Rutgers practice?
Yes, he being Oliveri. I'm all for them utilizing the redshirt if possible. I'm not sure how much of a gain one is vs the other. Sammy's partners are much better than when he was a frosh. He's had to improved greatly. He was our best wrestler his freshman year. I think he AAs."He" being Olivieri? For next year, definitely. One at 125 could go 133. I wonder if Sammy would want to bump up again, leaving 141 to Olivieri. He would have to beat White unless he too moved up, which might not be a bad idea. If any of that transpires, the guys moving up should spend the summer in the weight room.Yes, he being Oliveri. It's a bit of a log jam 125-149, but if we could space out their availability, then why not?
Let’s try to avoid attacking someone without facts or proof. Bill, our best fan, confirmed that Pessimistically is a Rutgers fan. Does one doubt Bill? It is fine to disagree with someone’s opinion. Let’s not accuse a verified fan whose opinions we may disagree with to be a Penn State fan. There are more productive and interesting topics to be discussed. Why would a Penn State fan go to a Rutgers practice?
And why would a penn st wrestling fan come here to bust our balls. That team is awesome and has been for a while. What's the point? RU's good but not there yet.Let’s try to avoid attacking someone without facts or proof. Bill, our best fan, confirmed that Pessimistically is a Rutgers fan. Does one doubt Bill? You got the wrong guy my friend. I’ve told you many times I respect your passion for the program. Just wished you didn’t flip out on everyone all the time. Actually been wondering where you’ve been. Your first post in months if I recall.Do u ever say anything meaningful ...you called me a troll when i joined and said i was someone else lol.....this guy is a supposed PSU fan ...everyone but you can't possibly be an RU fan according to you ..grow the Hell up...it's getting old .
Because they run back to their board and giggle about it. I don’t know what the point is but this has happened multiple times. And why would a penn st wrestling fan come here to bust our balls. That team is awesome and has been for a while. What's the point? RU's good but not there yet.
That's the scenario that I'm hoping for. Although, Sammy has the frame for a 157. I just don't know how that jump would be. Def a big one, but not impossible and has been done before. He's got a redshirt as well. For next year, definitely. One at 125 could go 133. I wonder if Sammy would want to bump up again, leaving 141 to Olivieri. I think if Sammy could succeed at 157 he’d be there alreadyThat's the scenario that I'm hoping for. Although, Sammy has the frame for a 157. I just don't know how that jump would be. Def a big one, but not impossible and has been done before. He's got a redshirt as well.
