Walk from Trenton Train Station to CURE Arena?

From Trenton train station go across the street and hop on the Riverline light rail. 1st stop will leave you in front of the Cure arena.
But as previously mentioned…

Only problems with that:
-The other mode of public transportation that’s less dependable is the AC Line. The Riverline runs every half hour so you may have to get there EXTRA EARLY if you’re taking the RL,
-The RiverLine is PACKED!!!!!!!! during normal rush hour. And it’s also dingy AF. I could imagine extra fans packing the train right before tipoff,
-The River Line stops running both ways at 930pm, no exceptions, because freight train operators take over the tracks for overnight freight deliveries. You’re FOOKED if you’re there at 931.
Remember what the SI Ferry guy said above, keep an eye on the time.

If it’s a 7pm tip and goes to OT that could a problem…more so for people who took the RL north several stops. Maybe they add RL service for the game. Would be a real embarrassment if people get stranded in Trenton at 10 pm because of a competitive game vs Princeton. All the Milton Friedman super-Stans would have a field day.

Sometimes that happens in DC when a Nationals game goes long as the Metro isn’t 24hrs.

Been told the Nats pay the bill to keep the trains running when this is the case.

TBH, They do add 1 or 2 extra RL trains for concerts at the Tweeter Center (or whatever the hell they call that Amphitheater on the Camden Riverfront. Believe it or not, they DO have BIG TIME shows in Camden.

They may do the same for the Trenton Arena but never saw anything posted in the past about extra RL trains for events in Trenton.

I’ve seen some great concerts there but haven’t been in many years…and always drove.

Hmmm.

Maybe if there is some buzz for this game, someone decides it’s worth it.

Or at least shuttle busses (or what NJ Transit calls them Land Bridges now) between Trenton Station and the Arena.

Speaking of which, although this would be Northbound out of Camden after concerts:

100%. Not sure why people can't realize this. Taking a train to this game is more expensive, more time consuming and less safe driving. This is absolutely nothing like taking the train to a game at MSG
Can't believe this thread is still going.
I wouldn't compare it to taking a train to MSG, but as someone very well-acquainted with NJ Transit, the Northeast Corridor line, the RiverLine, and CURE Arena, I'd absolutely have it as my first option if I were coming from points north/northeast. Maybe that's me -- I'll always choose an available rail option, and I'd rather do any number of things before grinding through stop-and-go down Route 1 and back, or the endless dullness of the Turnpike -- but this one is kind of easy. Coming from Bucks County, it's not an option for me, though.

For those who don’t have a car or Uber/Lyft, the only way to get to Cure Arena is either the Riverline every half hour and last trains is 930pm (which I would barely recommend as I know this board) or the 601, 609, 619 buses, which may/may not drop you off nearby.

Just know your options and go to NJTRANSIT.com for more info. Or just watch the game on TV or at your sports bar.

The train to the light rail worked out very nicely. It was definitely under-utilized, from what I've been reading. Obviously not everyone is close to the Northeast Corridor or the River Line. But it was a great option for those who are close to either of those lines.

This was clearly the best tack, even if it involved driving a little while to some station along the Corridor route or River Line. Sounds like some of the ones with an irrational fear of public transit wound up having to leave their cars in the very neighborhoods they (mistakenly) thought they'd have to walk through after hopping of the train.
