Watts decommits...

Sorry for the rant but CFB is making me sick with this song and dance routine by guys like freaking Franklin and kids buying the BS...let's even the dang playing field or buy a Urban Meyer or Harbaugh type and get it on or get along with our business....selling our souls for fickle kids is crazy..

What BS? When you win it is not BS.

What is RU selling?

This is why I was so critical of Ash during the season. We simply don't have the luxury to have seasons where it's ok to lose because we're rebuilding and supposedly moving in the right direction. Enough of that BS ! Been through it too many times as an RU fan. Coach is being paid 2 million a year and needs to show results -- from the start. No one was expecting 8 wins but certainly 4 or 5 was not asking too much.

No QB and grant got hurt early. We should have won a couple more games for sure. Can't look back now. We have some solid freshman coming in, grant is back, and we have a much more experienced staff. If we don't show any improvement next year, then he deserves the criticism. Time to hope for the best into next year.

Interesting that it's become almost a given that a flip will cite some form or permutation of "Divine guidance or intervention" as seemingly playing a role in his decision, when the plain truth is the kid is probably only doing what he, personally, wants to do anyway. -Guess it makes his switch play better than just saying, "When I initially gave my verbal to "XYZ" school, the offers I had available were extremely limited. Now that I have more options, though, I've decided to go with the school I believe has the most glitter."

To be sure, any recruit has the right to go wherever he wants and good luck to him. And there probably are certain select instances where faith comes into play. -But it would be refreshing to hear one simply say every now and again, "Hey, I got what I thought was a better offer, so I went with it", and leave the religious/spiritual part out of the equation, especially if it's only being thrown in as window dressing to make what a prospect's doing seem, at least in part, to somehow have been influenced from above.

Some of our so called fans seem to be our real problem?? I was in the Corps but never even attended RU...why am I so loyal? We'll? That's the problem here IMO...

These are the type of players Schiano built his team on.

Ash isn't gong to last if he can't keep them in NJ.

Ash, 12 total NJ kids, 3 top 8, 11 top 35 in 1st class (thus far)
Schiano (2002, 1st full cycle): 8 total NJ kids, 1 top 8 (can't find top 35 only goes back to 2003)

...I'd say Ash is doing a pretty good job thus far.

Especially when one considers that we're coming off a two-win season...with lots of blow-outs.

Very disappointed in the Watts family
You must be real disappointed in the Devera family for decommiting for the second time in less then a month.

My point is sometimes the kids have to do what best for themselves. I don't get why fans have trouble understanding that. You won't see this kind of post questing the kids word or family when they flip to you.

Where do you guys rank Watts as compared to the other recruits/transfers coming to RU at WR ? ( count Lewis)

Losing a local player to UMich, ND or Ohio State is one thing but losing him to a school in Podunk, VA really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Especially, someone with so many ties to RU.

Va Tech has become a very popular school in my part of NJ. Kids who used to go BIG now often prefer ACC schools. Weather, costs etc
