We’re a bubble team next year

Doucore reclassified, and really should have been given a red shirt so that he could work on fitness and strength. But we were short handed. Think Doucore will be fine--there's guys in the NBA who played poorly as freshmen--and even sophs. Like Frank Kaminsky of Wisconsin. Freshman year, 1.4 PPG, 1.4 RPG. Soph, 4.2 PPG, 1.8 RPG. Jr--14/6. Sr-19/8 and conference POY. Third year with Charlotte; 12/5 last season. Big guys take a while. So Geo, Eugene and Doucore are three promising freshmen--Geo is already good. To be honest, Corey seems much like freshman Corey, and maybe it is time for a parting of the ways. Bullock seems salvageable--with a program to at least get fit, if that is his normal body. He's a freshmen too, and seems to know how to play and is not intimidated. He was all-state for a reason. Doorson--is he really on track to graduate next year? All of a sudden we have a slew of guys that rarely post--summer soldiers, as it were.

Reminds me of the drumfire on the board directed against Gary Waters, largely from new posters. Fred Hill Jr--right now, or else someone else will grab him. With FHJ, Mike Rice and EJ, who is a better NBA assistant than a college HC, how in the world did anyone think a new coach would get any recruiting traction right off the mark?? It is the nature of fans to gripe and want it NOW. But coming off a legacy of FHJ, who was dreadful, Mike Rice, who made us a punchline and EJ, who was old and unsuited, did you expect Pike to land a good first group of 3 and 4 stars based on a good record at Stony Brook and a good staff? In what alternate universe do you live? Next year, the roster will be much better, with better depth. And 2019-20, we should start making some real noise, as the young guys mature.

If Corey doesn’t return, it’s 14th place.

It's February 1st....and spring recruiting, transfers in and out of programs have been finalized I guess to determine that it will be 14th...I guess the larger question is there's no possible way to know where other schools will, injuries, early entries in draft...or will schools be allowed to accept transfers from other schools immediately if that's adopted, when a coach is fired or leaves a program....

Probably best to wait until September to try and figure that out.

Starting to get a little skiddish on Carter. anyone else? I thought his numbers would be higher.

Playing about 18--22 minutes a game...over 50% FG, not taking jump shots based on the games online and 60% from FT line....most goals of a JUCO coach are to win games, manage minutes and get as many of their kids scholarship offers...

The other PF they have i think is a frosh with nice touch and was committed to Evansville. A lot of the JUCO games are guard dominant, which is like most college basketball games...I don't think 60%FT is anything unusual.

In the B1G you would want to look at rebound numbers just as much...7 to 8 boards in 20 minutes of play is very very good if the player gets up to 25-30 minutes, double digit rebounds on occasion should be fine.

Did the program bring carter in to be a backup or starter? I saw Freeman’s numbers in juco were very high.
