As a grad transfer. He has played in big games and is a true running QB. Then in 18' Oden & Lewis can battle it out.

Will he get Nfl looks?
And what's he looking to study in grad school?.. It's gotta be something notre Dame doesn't carry, right?

was thinking the same thing...he's the type of QB we need based on our scheme...

Your concern is misplaced. Destination programs always find an adequate program of graduate study. When it comes to graduate transfer athletes, only 1/4 of football players ever get an advanced degree, and 1/3 for hoops. Most withdraw once their eligibility is complete. This link provides some explanation and figures.

If he or any top qb was looking to be a grad transfer wouldn't they be looking only at schools that have an established OL and very good WR's. Is that RU going into '17? New WR's may very well excel but would you pick based on potential?

I wouldn't. Non starter even if he does go that route.

They are more first looking at places they are almost guaranteed to start immediately. Any place with established OL and WR's probably has a QB or a QB battle too.

Zaire is from Ohio, so New Jersey isn't too far. Also, he's a perfect dual threat guy who is probably more comfortable running than throwing. I have no idea the style of interest he would draw from other schools but if he came to Rutgers he would be guaranteed to start immediately in the B1G East

Well said. Some people just can't figure it out.

I laughed out loud at this

Well, it's a natural progression right? In less than a week the board has gone thru the 5 deep on the QB depth chart. The next logical move would be scouring the rosters of other schools to find someone that RU needs to bring in. Doesn't matter that there's no evidence this is even a remote possibility, just get er done Ash.

Get over yourself.

NJ's Tanner McEvoy as well.

McEvoy wasn't a grad transfer. He came to Wisconsin after So Carolina and a JUCO. Sure played a major part for them at 3 different positions. I read he's been doing good things as an undrafted FA for the Seahawks. Plays WR.

NC State sure blew it with Wilson iirc.

I would say 1st and foremost for QB's would be if the offense fits their skill set. Though this is kind of a mute point, as most teams play some type of spread, but eliminates those that don't. Second would be immediate playing time. Your a grad transfer your not looking to be in a dogfight for the starting job. Last it would be the talent surrounding you. The talent surrounding you won't matter if your not playing.

He's not going Pro he's already getting beat out on his own team. When he goes the grad transfer route(if he qualifies) I would say Houston is the school of choice as Wards a senior and I'm not sure they have anybody decent to replace him.

They have the guy from Texas A&M who was a 5* out of high school coming in. Wasn't too bad at A&M as well.

This certainly seems like a good match. He's not a bad player though so I'm sure he will have numerous offers on the table.

Nice call, forgot about the A&M transfer. Believe they also swapped QB's with Oklahoma. So yeah that would be an awful match there.

This isn't NFL free agency, son.
If this is in reference to my post, Knight from Oklahoma transferred to Texas A&M, that same year Murray from Texas A&M transferred to Oklahoma. So yeah I'd say they swapped QB's.

That because he was forced out at NC State

Wilson was not forced out, OBrien told him his starting spot would be given to the other QB if he played baseball and he would have to win it back in August. Wilson talked it over with his folks and decided to leave on his own.
