Welcome home Ahmir

I assume he means a guy with major character issues. Being suspended for missing curfew. Getting arrested and suspended for 2 games for beating up a women (even though he apparently didn't).

You know ... stuff like that. I hate when that happens.

If that's what was meant, then all I can say is:

Oh. Well. In that case ... never mind. My bad.

Wouldn't get my hopes up. Most transfers for us don't work out. If he was B1G caliber, Michigan wouldn't have parted with him especially not to strengthen it's competition (Rutgers).

[eyeroll] Youre right... hes probably an awful, awful player. This is just terrible news. Harbaugh let him transfer to sabotage us. Lets just cut him now and save us the future roster spot. Chris Ash proves yet again that he has no idea what the hell he's doing...........

Except this isn't a normal transfer. He wasn't cut, and would've probably made the two deep at Michigan had it worked out for him.

He'll be our best receiver next year.

Welcome to the banks!

Can he go out for the coin toss at the Michigan game?

Trying to be serious here--what is Coach Ash and his staff doing different than what Flood and his staff did ?
Welcome back to The State of Rutgers and your Scarlet Knights !!!

Basically I think it boils down to this; Flood wasn't in any way prepared to be the HC of a P5 program, either by experience or training, and as time went on it became more and more apparent he was completely lost.

Ash, on the other hand, had a plan prepared for quite a while for the day his chance came to be the top guy at a major program and he's instituted that plan with a vengeance ever since his very first day at RU.

Essentially, Flood gave the impression of not having a clue, while Ash gives the impression of someone who knows exactly what he's doing. -How will that play out on the field? Only time will tell. But I have a feeling we finally have both the right HC and, just as importantly, the right AD, to raise this Rutgers program to the level we all want.

And, of course, WELCOME HOME, AHMIR!! GREAT having you with us "ON THE BANKS"!!! [banana]:cool2:[thumb2]:boom::100points:

wow, so negative, why don't you give the young man a chance before judging him so harshly

Trying to be serious here as well, but I'd say projecting a higher level of competency.

Now that is not very specific, but I think there is a broad sense of that going on.

And I mean that more in praise of Ash, then a knock on Flood.

I just want to know why he's playing this off as his choice. If he wanted to goto Rutgers he would have. Now that he got suspended and under said suspension was snap chatting at 2am out on the town obviously not taking the doghouse seriously, while his teammates were busting their ass every morning all day, I'm sure he got into more trouble if not straight up asked to leave but plays it off as if he's decided to leave lol.

Just hide your credit cards.

Die in a fire.

I do like the quotes I'm reading from Mitchell. Dare I say he shows some old sole wisdom.

Even his major, Kinesiology, yeah, he's a football player first, and he's not putting up a front, his education is tied in with his athletics. Makes me think such a major will allow him to focus more on his school work then if he were a business major.

Personally I think classes like "football 101" or "careers after athletics" should be part of an athletes academic curriculum.

I would just like to welcome the newest Scarlet Knight. Like most things in life, you never know how things will turn out. So, don't burn your bridges (i.e. That's why I don't say anything negative against recruits or coaches or anyone else who chooses not to come here -- you might be welcoming them back a few months or years later).

Ahmir made the best decision he could make for himself when he chose Michigan. And, now, he's making the best decision he can make for himself by choosing to join RU. Neither the program, nor the coaches, owe him anything more than an opportunity. If he makes the most of that opportunity (and I believe he will) it will benefit everyone.

So, welcome home! Go RU!!

Oh, and the Todderick Hunt article says that Ahmir will appeal the B1G rule which would force him to lose a year of eligibility. I hope he wins that appeal.

I guess it turns out Michigan wasn't the best decision for him and he needs to be close to home.

No person is going to trash themselves in the paper. He of course is going to play it off like it was his choice. No you think a person who was fired from a job is going to put incompetance on their resume? Of course they are going to spin it as their choice. He probably would have been better served if he had toned it down. You will find out quickly if he learned his lesson and changed his attitude or not. It doesn't appear so in the article though.
