He would be a good coach for Rutgers IMO. But...worked with Paul Johnson to GT. I'm sure he'd run a tight ship.
He would be a good coach for Rutgers IMO. But...
*His offense is a gimmick offense that players who want to play on Sundays don't want to play in. Gimmick O's have gotten a SLEW of teams into BCS/NY6 games.
*He's not a P5 Coach. Why?
*May be too expensive. So...he IS a P5 coach?.
*That offense will never work vs P5 teams. Disagree (see: Georgia Tech)
*He's not Greg Schiano. So?
*Option football is too boring. As opposed to our current offensive style of play?
Option football works against P5 teams. The zone read is based on old-school option football concepts. Ohio State, Clemson, Baylor, TCU, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are all using it.He would be a good coach for Rutgers IMO. But...

My fault. Maybe i should've put all of my list in quotation marks from quotes from others on why Rutgers should never hire a coach who runs the Triple option. Even though I'm a fan of the Triple and would like to see Rutgers run the Triple since i think the pro type offense may have run its course. Somehow I get into arguments with others who I agree with.
wait we have a coach????How about we realize we have a coach and people stop starting a new thread every time a name pops into their head. OR just put all this worthless drivel in one thread This board isn't hiring a coach.
You called it right. Failure to review what clearly was not a catch in the end zone! That crap has beaten one SEC team today and is tied at 17 with another SEC with 4 minutes left in the 4th.
I'm calling it now. Georgia is going to beat Georgia Southern with a BS SEC penalty or a big gain.
Well, Hermann is off the board. Not because he signed an extension or is too expensive, but because he just lost to a TERRIBLE UConn team. Doesn't that eliminate consideration?
Its like Rutgers feel they must run the pro style offense because they must prepare their players for the pros instead of preparing their kids to compete vs Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State Wisconsin, and the other B1G teams. Why can't RU run an option offense? The pro-style experiment failed.

best choice in my opinion but we need the $$$$ to get him to leave navyI have mentioned this, I think he is a great choice
- Has beaten plenty of p5 teams
- Worked with even stronger academic requirements than we have
- Solid off the field presence
- Triple option got Georgia Tech to the Orange Bowl and they are usually an ACC contender. I could see it working here
I would like to see him as a candidate.

It got us to levels never seen before including 9 or 10 bowl games. Winning almost all of them, while putting tons of kids in the NFL. It's been a success, not failure. A huge success when you look at our history.
To answer one of your questions, someone else in this thread said that he may be worth too much money for Rutgers to be able to pry Coach Ken out of Navy (P5 or not).lol @ Tico you got me!
In a much weaker conference resulting in mediocre bowl games.
The pro-set needs to go. We can't recruit at the levels needed to make the pro-set work in our division.
That said, leave my coach alone. lol
Whatever. It still did what I said it did. Get the right coach that can recruit to it. Flood isn't that guy.
