What happened to muller?

Applefield has been in the game for a long while.... I think he has been in there since the late 1Q. But I never saw muller get injured and did not hear tv announcers mention it. Stepped out for 5 minutes, maybe I missed it

Maybe someone listening to WOR heard an explanation

Did not hear it during the game... nor did anyone provide an answer. However I heard Ash address this in the post game press conference on the radio... so In case anyone did not hear the presser:

Muller apparently was NOT injured. He said Muller was removed in lieu of Appllefield because he was having trouble handling the speed of their lineman. Asked if this was a plan from the start of the game... Ash said no...was an in-game decision. No mention of any changes to depth chart in the future

I'll have to check this out later when I watch the replay.... perhaps this is where most of the pressure on Laviano came from early in the game??
 
I wasn't able to watch the game, but was he beaten like a drum as badly as Art Forst was against UNC?

Only watched a couple of plays. On one his guy went right over him. Bent him backwards.
 
Muller does everything, and I mean everything right except perform well in games.

RG is the easiest position on the line.

A 5th year senior struggling at RG is almost unheard of.

and yet, Muller has been remarkably consistent. He was the lowest graded lineman last year.

I blame the coaching staff. Had they simply looked at the tape it was pretty obvious.

and it's worse, because Coach Ash made him a captain. You can't bench a captain.

this is a mess.

Why can't you bench a captain? Bench guys who can't perform and give the next guy up a chance. If that guy can't perform, go to the next guy. If no one can perform, make recruiting that position a priority.

Please correct me if I'm wrong here...Chris Muller had surgery or a medical issue prior to the spring practice...Chris Muller did not participate in any contact drills then and very little during the summer session...another player who was wearing a green jersey...Muller struggled last season as well... sometimes horribly ... Chris it appears has digressed from his first several seasons on the line...he's not game ready ( not so much physically at least ) by any stretch...he deservedly needed to sit out...Applefield was if I'm not mistaken ahead on the depth chart and " overtaken " during camp... Muller is well respected by everyone...works hard...could be just stale but also could be he's not capable... He was chosen a captain long with the others because of their potential leadership abilities in a tough season...this is reason enough to understand why we moved Seymour to O line...Applefield ...Tariq Cole...Miller ... Heeman ...Seymour return next year ...time to start bringing the young ones along...Chris needs to prove he is the guy.

Sometimes good DL just take you to school. Anthony Davis gave two sacks to Connor Barwin in one game. Muller looked as manhandled as I've ever seen but Washington DL is awesome crew

The only difference is Davis was playing the blind side LT and wasn't manhandled ... those Connor Barwin sacks were caused because A.D. attempted to help on the inside blitz from Cincy...Muller was just being manhandled...I was able to watch the game on 716 EXFINITY so seeing it was hard to take...not defending Chris Laviano but ...they were in the backfield before the ball reached him...no receivers + no O line equals total disaster.

Muller and Applefield each gave up a sack. Hicks would have given up a sack if not for the defensive holding penalty.

I didn't notice Muller playing poorly when I watched the game again today.

How many years has Barwin been in the nfl playing at a high level? Muller has stunk up the joint since he's been here imo
 
It was the play in the second Quarter around the 30 when Goodwin had left corner with a blocker and he got beat so bad he whiffed and DT make ankle tackle. If he just stood in front of him and let himself get steamrolled it still would've been good enough to let Goodwin have time to get corner

RUskoolie - mktman is a Pedd Man, so you should take anything he says in that context. Mktman was ticked that Muller picked us over the Pedophile Supporters, so I think that tells you all you need to know about him.

Read SI, a coach writes that Washington has an incredible defense. I agree watching the game.

Every good lineman gets beat occasionally. EVERYONE.

Muller wouln't be starting his 3rd season in a row, about 25 straight games right now, if the coaches didn't think he was good.

And he wouldn't have made some post season All Big 10 teams last year and All Big 10 pre season Teams this year (Phil Steele 3rd team), if he wasn't showing he was good enough in games and on film.

Some so called RU fans are down right Ignorant.

Keep putting up GIFs mocking our players, real nice, D bags. Go find another team to mock, you suck.

Oh yeah, when Pedd St has Mike McQueary recruiting you, guess what, people find it revolting.

I disagree, Muller has done everything right, and I do mean everything, except play well in games.

And no, a redshirt Senior Captain playing the easiest position on the O-line cannot get beat on an inside rip.

Muller should be playing Center.

Muller is a redshirt Senior Captain, he's well aware of his own short comings.

This isn't his first rodeo. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that he needs to play better.

Kudos to Coach Ash for Sitting him. He earned it.

I still have not watched the game and it obviously looks like Muller had a tough game but...in all seriousness, I ask because I had not seen it but would love to see how they grade the OL.
Did they release their grades of the OL or what they use to grade them?
Thanks, if you have it, I would appreciate if you could post it.
 
I saw the one early play where he got knocked over.. it began with a head slap and push from the DL... that is not legal.
