I was expecting big things from him coming into the year as he had been steadily progressing every season and seemed the clear #2 target in Cincy, but unfortunately he experienced a major dropoff. One game to go but he's sitting at 50 fewer targets than a year ago, over 400 fewer yards, and ZERO receiving TD's. What gives?

Sanu is a tremendous red zone threat. I don't think Cincy figured that out and always look to Green. Maybe they don't want to worry about paying another player knowing Cincy's history that way.

Sanu has 2 rushing TDs this year. They love him. The broadcast teams love him, too.

He's the #3 WR plus with Eifert he's the #4 option in passing situations. He was the #3 WR last year also so he hasn't regressed.

Marvin Jones being healthy is what happened.

it will be an unpopular statement around here, but Sanu is a 3rd option for a good team. Aj Green, Marvin Jones, Tyler Eifert, Gio Bernard, etc.....this doesn't mean he isn't an option, but he's not a top option on a good team.

He needs to leave Cincinnati. Would fit great working with Brady.

many players would. brady doesn't rely on 1 guy, so i imagine in a pass heavy offense without a true #1 a bunch of wrs could look good.

i would love to see britt with a real qb.

Not sure I understand the comments in this thread. Sanu is a perfect fit in Cincy. He is a great #3 WR and a glue guy. He's a winning player. If you have watched Cincy at all this year -- as opposed to looking at stats like fantasy football -- you know this...

Maybe his baby born right before the season started is taking up some of his time and energy.

Sanu is like a Bolden - he has legit great hands and wins most contested balls because hes not only big but uses power. He not only wins the ball vs a DB but can leave the DB on the ground. He had around 20 red zone TDs for RU (most were recptions) while Britt had 2.

Sanu is doing just fine. He provides versatility, great blocking, and he has no drops this year, which was a problem for him last year. He's also been a big third down receiver and, if you see the games, he makes sure that the other receivers are in the right position. Finally, as stated above, he's got some pretty good other receivers around him. Btw, Kroft is doing great too!

He's the fifth option behind the two wr's, the te and the rb. Starters make more money than back ups. While a great situation for the Bengals, Sanu could easily be the go to possession receiver on many teams in the NFL, make 60 catches a year and get paid a lot more. He needs to get out of there.

Unfortunately Dalton locks onto one guy and does so at his team's peril. You'll really see it in the playoffs where Sanu and others will be wide open and Dalton will force several throws at Green that will be broken up or picked.

Its easy not to have drops if nobody is throwing to you lol. Sanu has only 32 receptions, 388 yds and no TDs receiving. He's 120th on page 3 of NFL receiving stats. He should have 6 or 7 TDs and double yardage - and be on Page 1. Cincy's injured TE has more catches. Its nice he can block but so can the WRs at Army lol

If the goal is to be a #2 to get paid then I guess he should leave because he can't beat out Jones. Of course, Jones is an average #2 so he isn't beating out any other twos in the NFL.

BTW, I'm a Sanu fan. I think he's in the perfect spot. He's on a very good team with an explosive offense. He's a critical part of the team and his role has increased since Dalton went down. In fact, he has taken snaps out of the cat in consecutive weeks.

They are too deep at WR- he would have been great for the PAts or (Sorry Gmen fans- for the Eagles) as well.

Like you said, he's a winning player. There is a place for him in the NFL. I see no risk in him leaving, he'll at least end up where he is now, as a #3. He's a free agent this offseason, he'll be leaving the Bengals or Marvin Jones will leave the Bengals.

As mentioned, the return of Eifert and Jones from IR last year and Green's healthy season have reduced Sanu's targets this year. He has performed a heck of a lot better than last year, specifically in the "dropped passes" department. He and Jones are both in their contract years, so we will see what happens.
