What is the realistic projection for what year we finally dance?

I think next year you'll see one thing that will really propel this team forward: a true pass-first point guard. Geo is doing a fantastic job running the point but he's going to be a killer SG. With Mulcahy in the fold and players improving as many have done so far under Pike, I think next year we will be a legit bubble team.

This teams goal is to make the Tourny. No reason a veteran coach would make this a goal if he doesn’t believe they CAN achieve it.

No but I think next year is a fine time for some fans to dream about making the tourney.
A better question for these boards is by what year do we need to dance before people start calling to Fire Pike?
no....next year this team could dance, at the beginning of the year I thought it probably would be too much of a leap but depending on how fast the freshmen progress this year it is a possibility next year although I would say that in year 5 of Pike the 20/21 season is the year I am targeting. Gio is a senior and Harper/Mathis are juniors and if a big if we get a recruit to replace Eugene we should be in the mix...but obviously as long as things are progress even in year 5 its not NCAA , Pike wouldnt be under pressure even in year 6...as long as things are progressing with the program
Didn’t mean to imply at all that Pike would be under any sort of pressure. Just saying this team is deep enough and talented enough to make the tournament in Geo’s junior year with Omoruyi and Thiam being seniors, given that we return basically everyone and add Jacob Young and Mulcahy and possibly more
50 50 for next year if mulcahy, Young are the real deal and we get another big or 2. I'd be shocked if we re not dancing in March 2021

Agree with you. I’m not saying it will happen but the NIT is a realistic goal for next season. At some point, you’ve got to stop spinning your wheels record-wise and produce.
Did you expect it after the St Johns game? I couldn’t be happier with our progress or results, but good god one road win and there are multiple tourney threads and an assumption we make the NIT. I’m as Dance starved as the rest of us, but jeez
