What REALLY is upsetting me is..... THE LACK OF EMOTION AND URGENCY !

I can understand that that our team has been totally decimated by suspensions and expulsions this season. I can understand that of course losing our 3 BIGGEST STARS from last season in Nova, Carroo, and Hamilton would significantly impact our season and our ability to win. I can even understand what some people are calling the inevitable "sophomore slump" where last year, the opposing teams didn't know our personnel and our coaching staff yet, so we were able to catch them by surprise on some things, but in your 2nd year things change because they have gotten a full year worth of tape on you now. I can understand ALL of that.

But what I can absolutely take NO MORE of is the utter lack of urgency in Flood's voice during these Post-Game BS shows. I know he is trying to be the Bill Bellichek of NJ where he doesn't get too up after wins and he doesn't get too low after loses, but this is where Flood misses the mark..... THESE KIDS AREN'T PROFESSIONALS YET! Some of these kids have yet to master the art of self-motivation so sometimes they need a coach to set the tone and make them all aware that, "Hey guys, WE NEED A WIN! We need some TOUCHDOWNS on offense. Let's go boys or else we are going to have to change some things up in practice and in games until we at least see some positive improvements!"

I just need to see from the Head Coach of our football team that losing by 30+ points for 3 games in a row IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
I just need to see for once in a press conference for Flood to come out and actually show some emotion and show me that this weighs on him and that it hurts him to go see the team perform like they have the past 3 weeks.

I DO NOT WANT ANYMORE MORE "We just need to focus on _______ and we need to focus on going 1-0 against them" and all his BS. While it is true that every week is a new week, he needs to light a fire under this team and let them know that this isn't the Rutgers from 20 years ago anymore. They have a passionate fan base that literally can take High Point Stadium and turn it ELECTRIC! They have a fan base that EXPECTS TO WIN! They have a fan base that expects to compete EVERY SINGLE GAME! And for the team to be performing the way the have the past 3 weeks hurts that fan base in the heart because they love the team and the boys and the COACH SHOULD SHOW SOME HURT TOO and not just keep feeding us his canned, repeat "coach talk" every week during the post game comments and his radio show comments.

Rant over. Sorry for the length I am just so not OK with any of this.

And I loved Flood. And I still like him. I think he should still be our coach through at least next season because it isn't exactly the easiest year to evaluate Flood with all the crazy roster issues with suspensions and expulsions and injuries. Next season will be the REAL test because he will have had this whole season and then the off season to train the guys up and get them ready for big time, BIG10 football.

I just wanted to throw that info out there because I didn't want anyone to think I was just saying this because I hate Flood. I am saying this because I have no problem admitting when I see mistakes or issues and right now I see a VERY BIG issue with the reaction I am hearing about this recent 3 game stretch and the tone that is being set for the big bowl push over the last 3 games of the season.

I AGREE....I'M SICK OF JOE GIRARDI JERSEY STYLE....DON'T PEE ON MY BACK AND SAY ITS RAINING...i think most of us feel that...i was calling it a ''lack of buzz'' but you hit the nail on the head...

Usually young QBS are coach killers and add Hamilton out and our young learning on the job DBs is a recipe for disaster...changing HC's too quick isn't always the answer.

NickyNewark the phrase "Lack of buzz" is also right on point.

Case in point.... the Ohio State game. I went to that game SO EXCITED and I was expecting the stadium to be just like it was for the Michgan BLACKOUT game last year. I expected goosebumps from the second the team ran out on the field. I expected to be high-fiving everyone around me on the big plays. I expected it to get so loud that OSU would have to burn time outs.

And yet instead what I saw was literally a team and a fanbase that just didn't have "the buzz" that Rutgers fans and High Point Stadium is known for. Kirk Herbstreit said it best about High Point Stadium during the Penn State game last year....."You want to talk about a hostile environment.... THIS is a hostile environment!" The fans can and will get up for the games, but Flood is literally giving us NOTHING to cheer about. He chose a QB who literally has problems making passes out to the flat to the RB on a designed flat pass. He has problems bouncing throws to open receivers. And then he comes out during Post Game comments and tells us things a improving and he can't wait for next week. Like come on Flood you are the leader of this team and right now we need you to LEAD emotionally and mentally. You cannot just be straight laced, by the book type coach right now....we need EMOTION!

Flood does have a tendency to make it seem like these losses are acceptable. They should make him angry, but they haven't. They didn't make him angry last year and didn't make him angry when the AAC teams were killing us either. I think his take on the situation is very much like his take on the QB situation. In his mind, if he never brings up the blow out losses, it makes things better. Just as if he never brings up the starting QB performing poorly, it's easier for him to put the situation out of his mind.

He's not the type of coach that gets very animated on the sidelines and he doesn't get animated in his press conferences. When you have those two things along with a poor record, it makes the coach look disconnected imo. He should be angry. He should feel as though his job is on the line. But he doesn't.

""Saran" I assume you think we should fire Flood right this second?"
Except... these conversations have taken place just about every year for the past 4.
