What will you consider a super successful season?

We are doing great in the OOC schedule. Once the B10 starts how many wins do you think we need for a successful season?

I think 18 overall wins with 6 to 7 in B10 play would make a super successful season, especially if 1 of the wins is against a ranked team.

Before this season, I was thinking in the 12-15 win range. 12 would be an improvement for sure and 15 would be a really successful season. We still need to win 4 BIG games assuming we lose to SH. So, I'm going to stick with "15" and hoping our losses are tough battles. Bottom line, we are on the right track with this coach and staff and excited for the future.

So is the question super successful as in the title or just successful? Super: 6-7 more wins, regular old successful: 4 more.

Good W-L is nice ... but great will be to have thoroughly secured new identity - new perceptions that this program is taking off like a rocket - having coaches saying to each other "If you have to play Rutgers hope you play them early in the schedule because they are getting better with every game"

I don't want to see blow out losses. Those blow outs under Jordan completely turned me off to RU basketball.

It was nice to see us try to claw back against Miami.

I think Rutger can win any game where the opponents strength is not at the 2 or 3 in respect to scoring ability and above average size at those positions.

Laurent will be important in B1G play IMO

I'm guessing that many of RU's fans were just hoping to see something better than last year's disaster. As the OOC wins continued to come, I think many just kept raising the bar. How many would have even hoped for a .500+ preseason?
Friday should give all of us a real dose of how the rest of the schedule will most likely play out. If we win, that bar will be going a lot higher.

16 wins. .500 would be huge, and leave us eager for 2017-18. Renewing my oath--if RU makes the NIT this season, will streak this floor (6 units) of my senior citizen condo singing Loyal Sons loudly. NCAA's and I streak all three floors, and probably end up arrested and under psych evaluation. Make it happen!

I was thinking the same thing. This season is already a huge success no matter how you look at it.

Yeap, I agree! This season is already a success! I'm confident the Coaches we have will only eIevate this program to new heights. I'm am one for raising the bar, so let's do it. We will learn more about this current team on Friday. Beat the Hall!

Sorry guys. Beating a bunch of terrible teams is not success. This is a good team, a NIT team.

Super successful? NIT bid.

Successful? Don't lose 10 conference games by 20+ points and 5 games by 30+

This season has already far exceeded my expectations - just in terms of the product on the court, let alone the record.

As far as record, though, before the season I was thinking a "successful" season would have been 13 wins. Pike has happily moved those goalposts for me, and I'm really excited for the team to be on the right track.

Staying close, and or beating these "Hall" nerds on Friday!

Then ask me again on Saturday.
You basically took the words right out of my mouth. I want to see how we do against a good team. Beat the Hall and I will say super successful 19 or more wins. Successful 18.

Success is seeing the culture changing....such a relief over last year. Guys don't hang their heads instead are tougher and resilient.

To me this team is already super successful. And my opinion is not based on just wins n losses. I based it on how they play the game on the floor. They have improved significantly as a team - better D, better communications, better hustle, better chemistry, BETTER COACHING. They do need to prove they are ready to take the next few steps - win their share of conference games and be super competitive in the games they are not supposed to have a chance in

Anything over .500 would thrill me, as my bar has not moved all that much based on the early season. Love the improved product, love the obvious quality coaching, love knowing I'll see effort and all that. But how does the worst team in the Big Ten compare to anyone on our schedule so far not named Miami?

So yeah, over .500 is great success. For this year.

Over .500 would be a huge leap fwd from the past few years. If we can approach 20 wins that would be beyond anything we could have expected this season
