Sure they could lose to Purdue in the Big Ten Championship. I doubt that. However, they beat Ohio State 2 years in a row and today at OSU. He made Stanford a winner. Then SF 49ers then Michigan. The clowns that said he sucks as a head coach are lacking in football knowledge. All those bashing Harbaugh threads are still out there. Instead of digging them up get out in front and admit you were wrong.

I was suspicious of Ohio St all year and expected Michigan to beat them
Harbaugh has been coming into his own the last few years
Fans wanted him fired bad a few years ago (too many tOSU losses)

Nah- the problem most had with JH was pajama parties in NJ and such.
He is a good coach but a bit of an AssHole. He finally broke his horrible problem of not beating who he really needed to beat. And he should have been able to do it much earlier with his resources. It shouldn’t have been a 6 year rebuild lol

This.

Also, in my lifetime Michigan has exactly .5 (1/2) of a CFB national championship. So far all of the history, the winning, the brand name, the winged helmets, etc, they’ve won ugats at the national level over the past 50+years.

Like Yes said above, congratulations to JH on finally figuring out how to beat Ohio state and Michigan state. But at almost $10M per year the expectation SHOULD be that they would be a legit threat to Georgia/Alabama and they simply aren’t. Whereas OSU beat both the Miami and Alabama dynasties respectively en route to national titles in this century.

With all the resources and money and history and prestige of Michigan football, it took JH six years to get to the elite level. It isn’t easy in this conference and division.

Winning we do that to people , and as long as he keeps his shirt on 👍

Their was alot of mocking Jim Harbaugh on here. But folks on here won't own up to it. They'll just counter with "Well he's suppose to be good."

To be accurate, though, he didn't start beating Ohio State until the coach changed.

The guy is a little out of the box, but that is ok. He took the 49rs to 2 NFC championships and to the Super Bowl with a middling QB. You don’t do that if you are not a very good football coach.

It's pretty easy to dislike his personality but admire his coaching ability. I still remember him eating that steak after the Rutgers win and rubbing it in on Twitter.

The whole hate for him from his own fanbase was just typical fan overreaction and idiocy. It's like the Eagles fans hating on Hurts and not giving him a chance to grow and now everyone loves him because he's a winner.

He is like 2-6 vs OSU and 1-2 vs Mel Tucker and tried to peace out on NSD but didn't get the job. He is a weirdo and embarrassing to the school and hid a felony charge on a player so he could play vs Ohio St.

I’m not sure why anyone on this board sat there waiting for JH to win just to start a thread.
We really have some of the weirdest people on here.
It is ok for people not to like JH. He is an easy man to dislike.
And he made it easy to call him out on his results. His first 2 years at Mich, he won 10 games each year with the prior coach’s players(yeah, had to use that) then had 8/10/9/2
Wins without being able to beat OSU. With his players.
That just isn’t good for Mich and their resources and players.

The OP seems a tad obsessed over this. Strange. I don't care about him one way or the other, but I do respect what he's done throughout his career. He definitely paid his dues and has won everywhere he has been. I just can't stand Michigan's fans more than anything.

He didn't run up the score. By the 4th quarter he had his 3/4 stringers running dice plays. Did you want his kids to just fall down?
IIRC, didn't he try an on sides kick against us in AA when we were down like 35-7? 7-8 yrs ago?

I will always think that he's a jerk. Running up the score against a hapless RU team a few years ago will forever be in my memory. 78 - 0, c'mon!

He didn’t though. We were so hapless going 3 and out and a total of 22 yards of offense, the only way to prevent a score like that would have been a mercy rule and sending everyone home. They put up 43 on the first half. If they were trying to run it up, they would have thrown more than 13 times that game. 100 yards passing, 500 yards rushing.

Yes very true. but the fake XTP up 5 scores was kind of messed up.

Perfectly reasonable take.

Agree.

I think many in the thread feel the same way.

This one below ain’t too bad either…
I don't understand the point of this thread. Is he suddenly any less of a dickhead than before? Is it somehow ok that he's a dickhead because he twice beat the guy born on 3rd base? He's still a dickhead.
I never liked him and I never will.

Fair. Might as well have been considered a scrimmage.

That was the only game I’ve been at where I didn’t even bother to go inside the stadium. By the time I had finished cleaning up the tailgate in the first, it was already a blowout.
Sadly we did that all the time when I was a student during the Shea Error.

I'm still here hating on Harbaugh.
Never thought or said he was a bad coach.
The guy is a nut and a creep whether his team is winning or not.

This is a weird OP, I hate Harbaugh more than any other coach in the Big, why would I have to apologize on an RU forum because he has a good team this year.

So we equate salary with expectations?
