Who else is not convinced HCKF will be fired?

Rutgers isn't getting a better name than GS. They just aren't. Now, they might strike lightening in a bottle and get some hot shot recruiter that can coach at this level, but that person will not have the accomplishments that GS has had. Definitely not initially. GS was here 5 years ago. Jersey hs kids will definitely know who he is. They grew up watching him.

GS was recruiting well in a left for dead conference. In the B1G, he is a potential monster.
Flood is not the guy. Schiano is not the guy.

I'm unconvinced that RU won't find a better option than Schiano.

Mr. Barchi better look at his own timeline: 5 or 6 years to adjust to the competition of a tougher conference. If Kyle Fludd is here another year that's Year 3. If he's finally fired at the end of 2016 he will leave a pretty barren cupboard, which would take 2-3 years minimum of good recruiting to fix and that would only get us back to where we were when we left the Big East. So in Year 5 or Year 6 we would likely be back to where we were in Year 1 and not one bit closer to having stepped up our game to be more competitive in a tough division. He has the chance to head off this gigantic waste of time...

Anyone outside of JH, Barchi and Brown are guessing.
As for coaching, doesn't matter what I think about Flood, at this point, I see no other option except for him to go.
As for MC- hell to the F no- but it may happen.
As for GS- I really think we need to do better and I'm not sure how much the B1G will improve his recruiting unless he brings the Pitt crew with him. Everyone talks of him recruiting well in a bad BE but he was still not on top of recruiting in that "bad" conference. Most of the time we were behind WVU, Ville, USF etc
Being in the B1G puts him against elite schools and history, how is he going to convince the Peppers/Gary etc of this area to stay home?

Agreed on MC, that would be disappointing.

Also agreed on Schiano, but I think trying to sort out how exactly he'd do in recruiting in just about impossible. How does he convince Peppers/Gary to stay home? I guess the same way he convinced Hamilton, Carroo, Huggins, Davis etc. to stay home. Of course he would lose more than he wins, be he'd win a heck of a lot more than we are now (recruiting wise).

At the end of the day his teams were rated in the 30s or better 5 of his final 6 years and 0 of Flood's 4 years. If he could replicate the rankings he achieved before we'd be better off, certainly not where I'd hope to be, but better off. People see that as his floor, I don't agree with that, I can certainly see him doing worse. I could also see him doing a bit better. Depending on who we interview and who might be available I don't see him as the worse option for RU, still I'd rather see a change.
