Why is it always Michigan State that we have to play at MSG.

I realize its gratifying to curb stomp them in front of 14,000 screaming Rutgers fans but is Tom Izzo too chicken shit to play us at our house or what??

Less complaining and let’s pack MSG. The kids love it and some of us adults enjoy a day in the City too.
Everything was great the last game at MSG except for Mawot tearing his ACL; We are defininitely going to pack the garden its a chance for those who don't have season tickets to get to see Ace and Dylan in person!!!

12:00 start was awful.
3,500+ MSU fans wasn’t great.
MSU fans given as many prime half court seats as RU was awful.
MSU pep band.
MSU Cheerleaders.
MSU intros.
RU losing at half time.
We dodged a MSU B1G bullet.
It wasn’t great.

Because Izzo runs the show and Rutgers is low end at the totem poll. Another year of a 4 game stretch away from the RAC

Izzo is absolutely scared of playing us at the RAC.
Izzo schedules one of the toughest OOC schedules every year, playing many of the top programs in the country , even though he doesn’t need to do so, and has often struggled in these games, so I am pretty sure he isn’t afraid to play at the RAC. Just a year or two ago, he had his team playing on an aircraft carrier . . .

If you want to consider yourself NYCs school (we are), you should play one game a year at the Mecca.

It’s an opportunity for fans who don’t have season tickets to see the team play. The players on the team love being able to play at MSG. They matter and you do not. MSG is basketball heaven to basketball players. Yes you have to spend some money if you go to MSG. Less time watching TV and on the Internet and more time working and that would not be such a big obstacle for you.

Both the Michigan and Michigan State games at MSG were awesome experiences. So fun getting on a train filled with other people dressed in scarlet. And not having to drive home is another perk…

Play Monmouth or Wagner there NOT a conference home game...

And get absolutely no one excited about it? We’re not getting national coverage to smoke Wagner anywhere during peak CFB season (November/December). You play a marquee game at the Mecca, not an early season tune up.

It was an awesome day and you know it. MSU fans travel....
Not awesome if you lose.
I like W’S.
Paul Mulcahy doesn’t go off in the 2nd half we lose.
Last two RU games v MSU at RAC have been blow out winds.

RAC home court advantage is awesome and you know it.

What part of the players absolutely love playing there don’t you understand. it’s an unofficial home game anyway as this fanbase shows up to MSG. How do you know Pike does t use it as a recruiting tool. Is it all about the cost?

Good then don’t give up home court advantage to play a conference game on a neutral floor unless every other team does to make it fair,

I always enjoy how you mention that RU was losing at halftime

As though it matters

Get it through your head, that RU WANTS this game at MSG

RU wanted it, and sought it out

So you think playing at MSG is the same as the RAC?

Ok…

Didn’t say that. Your whole argument is that the RAC is louder than MSG, so we should never play a marquee opponent at MSG. And playing in a nominally less loud arena even when our fans are 80% of a crowd twice as large as a regular home game, should not count as a home game.

Home court was not helpful last year.

In addition, I thought teammates were supposed to step up and contribute.

I like big time....and you guys think small time. Would you actually go to MSG if we played Monmouth.

Where did I say the RAC was louder??

Looking forward to attending this game. Will be fun to take kids on the train and make a day of it in the city.

College basketball is about the players and fans. Every Rutgers and Michigan State player is looking forward to playing this game at MSG.

As for the Rutgers fans, a few miserable ones will worry about whether it is classified as home or neutral and the impact on the NET and hyperventilate about the supposed home court advantage of the RAC. The reality is a large majority look forward to a game against a conference opponent at MSG.

Where do you think visiting Michigan State fans prefer to spend a Saturday, Piscataway, New Jersey, or New York City.

Question: Scarletknights.com lists the game's location as TBD and the MSG website does not show it on their upcoming events schedule. Richie has it at MSG on his schedule, the one I trust the most. Is there a chance the MSG deal falls through?

Nothing unofficial about it, it's considered a home game. That part irks me, it's not even in the same state.

Who cares where the Michigan State fans prefer to spend a Saturday ??

Obviously they’d rather the neutral floor at MSG.
