I would give it a yes (we could talk about using ellipses points in a different post). It's an informal setting and "play for" is a phrase in common parlance. Although I try to avoid ending sentences with prepositions when writing formally, saying, "Seems like someone for whom you would want/like to play," is a bit stilted. Sometimes you have to ignore the formal rules to make your point. "Everybody had a good time," is fine, but "A good time was had by all" is Shakespeare (even if it is in the passive voice).
