I can't seem to find it on the replay but it seems like for the past three games, Turay has been getting yelled at consistently...what he do?

I didn't see it this time but he's been out of position a couple times and that drew some scolding. Better to get chewed out than benched. Turay will get it.

Turay rettig and hicks didnt get the right haircut and are suffering the consequenes- must be the reason to shackle sone of the linited talent we have.

Kid never looked built like a DL. Wonder if he could have caught balls. Imagine him jumping for TDs in red zone.

Didn't see that , thanks .:flushed:

Turay just doesn't seem to get it , unfortunately
I really don't think he does. Whenever the whole defense huddled during timeouts he was always the last one to get to the huddle. One time an assistant had to yell at him to go over to the huddle. It may be trivial, but it does speak to his attitude. I think he's still believing his press clippings.

I wish he would go out and try to block some field goals.

Illinios had a great formation where 3 widebodies were directly in front of the punter. Short of LT barrelng through one of them Rutgers wasn't going to get close to the punter. In fact didn't one of R punt returners have a fumble and another wobble-if he had the same blocking maybe he could have sprung one.

Don't forget, too, that he just started playing football, so even though he was an athlete, he really may not have those unwritten rules or guidelines of football down pat the way most players at this level do. What may come as second nature to someone who has been around the game from a young age may still be new to Turay.

Turay basically was told 1) Jump high block kicks and 2) rush the passer. Under Flood. The was never any development in those two years. Possibly because of the shoulders. But his lack of development to the other facets of the game is what is keeping him on the bench. I am sure his surgeries have weakened his abilty to get off blocks when rushing the passer

Turay did not dedicate himself to rehab in off season for his injury. When the new staff came in he took the same attitude about learning the new defense.Much time was then spent trying to continue rehab his injury and when it was 100 % he still took the attitude,'Im just here to rush the passer" .That attitude and combined with he still does not know the defense allignments, hasnt made him a favorite with this staff.

Shows you what was allowed during Flood days, and that same 'everyone do what you want approach' carried to the off field mess under Flood leading to where we are today..at the bottom.
