The great poster Local Shill posted the famous 'winning is losing ' post before the 2013 USF game . He was totally right . We saw how winning can really be losing in the long run . It's obvious flood is over his head and has stunk it up here . For the long term betterment of the program let's just hope this bottoms out and we move on . Please save all the 'i will never root against Rutgers' nonsense . You don't need to root against ru , but just realize that at this point under flood 'winning is losing ' . Again

Fun fact: since beating USF in that game, Flood is 9-12 (.429) vs FBS teams & 7-12 (.368) vs P5 teams.

...and the ONLY reason we ("he") went 8-5 last year was because there was a lot of seniors, with a ton of experience, starting.

Its not his overall record that had me against him starting in 2013 - it was the blowouts in the AAC that foreshadowed the blowouts in the B1G and the drop off in recruiting that guaranteed future failure.

Today's state of our program was painfully predicted starting in 2012 and confirmed in 2013.

I will pose this:
If winning is losing so then losing is winning.
The big question if we lose out in dramatic fashion, will there be a change? Not so sure with this crew (NJ government, BOG, Pres, and AD).

I will never ever ever understand why somebody would WANT this team to lose.

You can still make a coaching change with a non-losing record. Going 6-6 doesn't guarantee Flood a job. It just guarantees a bowl game, which is better than no bowl game. The only thing that can guarantee the coach a job is the President/BOG/AD/etc who decide on his fate.

If donors are going to donate if he's 5-7 or 4-8, why couldn't they donate toward his buyout if he's 6-6?

Here's my problem. Cognitively I understand that if Rutgers loses the remaining 3 games, that makes the decision to replace Flood a lot easier than if Rutgers wins the remaining 3 games (and a bowl game).

But, nonetheless, when I sit down in the stadium, I can't help but to cheer for the guys with the block R's on their helmets.

Am I missing something...all the seniors from last year?
The Sr QB that you guys all hated. A decent but not next level C, a good OL and a serviceable OL. A hobbled MLB and a S that you guys all hated too.

I am all for making a coaching change but would still rather win out.

Also love how it was pointed out how Rhule is everyone's darling but he is doing it with almost an entire team of Sr's. Lol

I will NEVER wish a loss on this team.

It's not that you root for the team to lose , just that one must acknowledge ' winning is losing '. Because if this team goes 6-6 this administration may keep this flood clown .

Let's be real here, Friedgen was really the coach in 2013. He also saved Nova from completely flaming out at RU. That is why we won 8 games. Not because of some special senior class.
Friedgen made all of those throws for Nova. I am sure he helped him with things, but let's not get carried away with the "saved" crap. That's laughable.

Bull4hit!!! Losing is painful and it sucks!

Winning is winning. Hopefully the administration looks at the whole body of work when deciding what direction to go after the season.

We need to see how the last three games go this year, but this year has been very similar to last year, with the exception of losing a close game to WSU.

I agree that Friedgen was extremely helpful and that he did a great job of coaching Nova. But these oversimplified single factor theories are ridiculous. There are lots of contributing factors to a team's success or failure. It's never just one thing. But the head coach is the guy that's supposed to make enough things go right to win.

Flood is obviously, IMO, not the guy that will make us competitive in the Big Ten. But fair is fair and if Flood gets the blame for how his coordinators are performing this season (which he should), then he ought to get the credit for how Friedgen performed last season.

I will NEVER EVER root for Rutgers to lose.

I just do not think they can beat Nebraska this year.

No matter what happens the rest of the way, it won't change the fact that Flood needs to go.

Here's the ironic part. By rooting for Rutgers to win you are rooting for Rutgers to lose!

And I say again what I said in 2013 on this topic...

If you want Rutgers to fail in anything on or off the field, you still might be considered a fan by some (not me) but you are certainly no Loyal Son/Daughter.

Don't forget we also had a FB and a TE who are now playing in the NFL.

I'd hope the body of work is enough to rightfully terminate but I can also see us somehow being the first team in college football history to win a bowl game and still finish with a losing record. I want to be wrong more than I can express, but I fear that even 4 wins might save him and 5 probably will.

And thanks, CD. I'd say the poster you mention is good. Not great. Great is reserved for others.

There's no guarantee that the administration will can Flood if he goes 4-8 or 5-7. So I don't understand this premise of wanting to lose in the least bit!

There is a morbid side of me that hopes for 3 wins plus a bowl victory just to see the complete meltdown of some of our fans that Flood saved his job again. Lol

3 wins is easily my 1st choice and let everything else fall where it may...if that's not going to be the case, I almost shudder to think what this place will look like if say we lose next week at West Point.

We need to see how the last three games go this year, but this year has been very similar to last year, with the exception of losing a close game to WSU.

And the blowout at Penn State vs close loss
And the blowout at Michigan vs close win
And the last second win at Indiana vs near blowout

But yes, if you look at our MEAC cupcake & beat downs by Wisconsin & Ohio State, this year is very similar to last year.

But hey, we kept MSU closer. Let's give that man $1.6 mm next year.
