ABOUT PURDUE
Like the Scarlet Knights, the Boilermakers will also be opening the 2017-18 Big Ten slate on Thursday.
Purdue enters the RAC at 9-5 overall having won its last three contests to capture the Basketball Travelers Inc. Invitational hosted by the Boilermakers. Purdue earned wins over Eastern Washington (65-40), UT Martin (60-58) and St. Mary's (Calif.) (70-60) to earn the title.
The Boilermakers have a quartet averaging double figures led by sophomore forward Ae'Rianna Harris at 13.5 points per game along with a tea-leading 8.9 rebounds per game.
Harris has also helped the Boilermakers top the Big Ten and rank sixth nationally in blocked shots. She is currently fourth in the country with 45 total rejections and fifth nationally at 3.21 blocks per game.
Senior guard Andreona Keys is next on the stat sheet at 13.1 points per game and a team second-best 5.1 boards per game. Sophomore guard Dominique Oden is next in scoring at 10.7 points per game while fellow sophomore guard Lamina Cooper rounds out the double figure scorers at 10.4 points per game.
STRINGER MILESTONE NUMBERS TO REMEMBER
Rutgers head coach Stringer has compiled a 989-392 career record in 47 seasons and is 11 wins away from joining the elite 1,000 career victories club in women's basketball.
SCAIFE MILESTONE NUMBERS TO REMEMBER
Tyler Scaife's game-high 24 points in 23 minutes against Princeton on Dec. 13 propelled the redshirt senior into third place on the Rutgers all-time scoring leader list past former teammate Kahleah Copper (2012-16).
In the next game on Dec. 16, Scaife's steal leading to the behind the back bucket that was featured on ESPNW's Top Ten Plays of the Week, pushed her past the 1,900 career point mark.
Scaife now has 1,908 career points and needs 92 points to become the third Scarlet Knight to collect 2,000 career points and 304 more to move into second place on the all-time list past Cappie Pondexter (2002-2006).
