Cassie Inacio, Erica Skroski, Colby Ciarrocca & Kenie Wright with the goals. Minny's goal was off a corner. Our keeper should have had it. Skroski made a great play to save a goal after another misplay by our keeper. She is going to have to step it up going forward. Minny's keeper cost them big time. Lost two balls right out of her hands that were banged in.

A good win. I believe our ladies are feeling it. They play OSU, which beat Wisky, on Fri.

We played a little sloppy the first half with a few uncharacteristic mistakes by players. Keeper was boxed in and jostled by a couple of their players on the corner kick which looked like a designed play to interfere with her, but it was unusual not to see her have another outstanding game. We were the better team tho and the ladies put it away rather easily in the end. They've got a Friday game vs #7 seed Ohio State and hopefully the championship game on Sunday!

Just watched the highlights. We got really lucky on a few of those goals(REALLY bad goaltending on 2-3 of the goals including the first two), but when you score 4, you really can't complain.

Let's keep on winning!

To correct the record. Just watched a few highlights. Our keeper didn't misplay the ball that led to Skroski's great save. Murphy was taken out of the play by her own player,Cassidy Benintente. Didn't see that from the stands.

Murphy was taken out, but I'll have to watch the replay yet again to see if she would have caught the ball or not. It seemed a bit out of her reach, but then again, it could have just been being taken out.

What really bugged me was that goalie play by Minny, as I said earlier. How are you not tight against the post after you see the ball deflected on the first goal. And how do you get beat on the header over the top in the middle of the goal (by Skroski), when every goalie in D1 is able to reach the crossbar by jumping? It didn't even look like she was far off her line. Just terrible, terrible play on her part.

The Minny keeper really cost her club.

Just watched the highlights again. Erica's goal was placed past the keepers reach just under the bar. If the goalie was 6'2" she still would not have saved it. Great goal by Erica, great try by the goalie.

Any good high school goalie would be able to save that, since it was center of the goal and the goalie didn't look too far out of place. We've had a good string of goalies at the school I coached HS at, including one starting D1 right now. She's been saving that same shot all the way back to when she was a freshman (once she learned how to parry it). It was just some really bad fundamentals by the goalie. Maybe I'm just seeing it from a bad angle and she was a lot farther out than I thought at first, who knows.

As a former GK...a cross with pace followed by a hard, running header: one of the toughest shots to save no matter where it is headed. I remarked to the guys sitting with me that that was the goal of the year.

Of the 4 that the Minny keeper let in, I thought that that was by far the most legitimate goal. Beautiful cross by Rachel Cole & sharp header by Skroski.

A great goal. But minny keeper had a pretty awful day otherwise.

Lol... Tarah Hobbs is tied for third in the B1G 10 with 9 shutouts. I guess any high school goalie could play Division 1 B1G 10 and throw shutouts. Get real. Rutgers has been making many goalis, offenses and defenses look average. That's what happens when you are the #7 team in all the land. RU should be 4th right now above Clemson, univ of Florida and Florida State. Let's win the B1G 10 and get a #1 seed in the Big Dance....

Yes I agree. Look at the shot in slow motion from the time it leaves Rachel's left foot. Tarah had no chance because of the power and placement of the shot by Erica....

And did you notice the extra head snap by Erica to give the ball extra velocity and placement ?? This coming from the B1G 10 Defender of the Year ( but Erica did start her Rutgers career at center midfield. )

That would be great. Is anyone familiar with how seeding is done for the NCAA soccer tournaments? Back when I used to watch ESPN, I recall the talking heads always mentioning the RPI and its impact on the selection of teams for the men's bball tournament. Well, RU's RPI is certainly already high enough, and higher than our ranking in the human poll, so winning the B1G conference championship tournament would do nothing to hurt that RPI ranking. I'm assuming that getting a #1 seed would mean getting at least a couple of home games in the tournament until such time as we either lose or the games move to a neutral site - perhaps for the sweet 16? or not till the Final Four?
