Anthony Ashnault makes a BIG Statement at the NorthEast Duels, easily handling #2 ranked Evan Henderson, dominating the Oklahoma and N Iowa opponents. Jimmy Gulibon you next !

Richie Lewis opened my eyes going 3-0 in 3 tough matches. Maybe we should always heed the words of WnGabarini, he predicted big things for Lewis.

I was also impressed and glad to see Anthony AA Perrotti bouncing back from a tough 1 point defeat to a highly regarded, ranked wrestler to see him beat another ranked wrestler and then handle the N Iowa wrestler.

It's especially sweet to beat UNC given that 1. They were ranked above us and 2. We beat them with a team of real college students.

As I said in the other thread, Oklahoma stole that meet from us. Lewis turned the Okie and he was absolutely flat on his back. He was pinned and knew it so he screamed injury so the ref would stop the match which he did. We won that bout but only got 4 team points instead of 6. 6 would have given us the win 20-19. The kid never showed any shoulder soreness or injury and wrestled full out the rest of the bout. Jerkweed and actor!

How did the coaching staff respond to the Oklahoma wrestler's charade? Is there any recourse? Is there such a thing as disqualification when something like this becomes obvious?

none at all as you have no way of proving that a kid faked it!! As for the ref, he has to stop the match whether he feels its legitimate or not just for liability reasons alone

That injury timeout was absolutely ridiculous. He was flopping around on the mat like he had a separated shoulder. Trainer does nothing, and then he goes on wrestling using that arm like nothing was wrong at all. Total BS, Lewis should've had the pin and RU should've had the dual win.

what bothers me about the Lewis call is this....If you watch the video again. The kid screams before he goes to his back. The Ref allowed that and stopped it when he was flat. My understanding is once he is on his back flat as a board the ref is to slap the mat and then the young man gets attended to. Stop it when he pulls the arm back and screams not after the fact and after you start swiping back points. Very tough one to take. But on the other hand it was sooooo good to see Lewis bounce back from a 6-0 deficit. 15-6 going into 3rd I thought a tech was coming. Cant wait to see him wrestle some ranked guys.

I get the excitement that Lewis won all his matches, but he didn't beat kids highly ranked. We shouldn't put him in the same category as Ashnault's wins. Ashnault absolutely beat up the studs and made a statement.

Lewis will only get better. Remember I predicted over 20 wins for him. He beat who was put in front of him. AA is in a class by himself right now.
