You are all wasting your time

It’s actually both and whether you’re wasting your time or not is a matter of opinion and expectations.

The issue has nothing to do with the players. Good coaches can develop players so they are
successful. Our coach had two five star players and neither improved after several months
of coaching. Doesn’t matter whom we bring in…..mediocrity at best.
Yes but Pike is locked in for another 6 years and RU can’t afford a buyout. 80% of the board stated the contract extension to Pike was absurd. There you have it.

There have been too many of the same type threads regarding the disappointing season.Bottom line the coaching staff and players on the roster were failures because the won/loss record says so for two straight seasons. There better be changes in the coaching staff and higher level talent from the transfer portal or there will be three straight losing seasons.Even at Rutgers mediocrity should be frowned upon.

Actually the poster makes a great point. Obviously, Dylan and Ace put up good numbers and without them the season would have been even worse. But did they actually take their game to another level? Did they improve markedly? Answer no - and that’s a coaching issue.

How many players grow exponentially over the course of the season? Aces defense went from terrible to pretty decent. Dylan was awesome and ended awesome. Ace had a massive stretch at one point, then hit a bit of a freshman wall. Dylan barely faced any wall. Players dont just change greatly over the course of 4 months and most cases of players doing such a thing is more just them getting more minutes.

Ace definitely improved. Harper was the player he was coming in.

The development of those players (or lack there of)……..not even in the top 50 of reasons to criticize the coaches

Bizarre post

Pike should donate at least $1M annually of his salary back to RU. That will go a long way in getting him some decent talent.

“Ace definitely improved?” His rebounding did a bit, but otherwise, no.

You continue to demonstrate how little you actually know about the game. Ace was forced to play out of position much of the season especially due to our issues at center. He was the leading rebounder & shot blocker. Also took the opening tips because neither center could apparently jump. You never saw him complain or get down on his teammates. He just went out and competed. If anything, tried to do too much at times on offense to make up for many of the team’s deficits.

He improved both offensively and defensively

I am not even going to credit pike for it but the kid improved in all aspects.

But I know your schtick so Whatever
You’d have to be a flat out imbecile to not see the changes over the course of the year.

Looking at the last 11 games, just more than 1/3rd splitting the season into beginning middle and end, it’s hard to say he improved. Rebounding technique and numbers did. His FT % did, credit the kid he worked hard on that. But he averaged only 12ppg on 41% shooting, but only 19% from 3. Two apg and just under a steal pg. his d and understanding of d did trend up but it was pretty awful initially. I like the kid, thank him for giving RU a shot and he’ll make a very good pro, but there really isn’t evidence he improved over the season except through people’s feelings or wishes.

Cool.

If we are wasting our time, what are you doing?
