Zaire going grad transfer route from ND

Man, he was supposed to be the second coming at ND. Kelly is totally fumbling at ND.

Also, I really appreciate the grad transfer rule. Give a kid incentive to get a degree in earnest, and he gets one option after. Finally some leverage for the kids. Unlike coaches who can leave teams high and dry.

Lastly, mentioned in the article, Gunner Kiel. I remember his story. Indy commit, he rips their hearts out, commits to LSU, enrolls at ND, ride the pine his freshman year and then Cincy and can't stay healthy. Its 20-20, but he would have flourished at Indy.

Could see this coming from a mile away after he bombed in his two biggest outings this season.

And despite the way it first looked, Wimbush will have three to play three.

Was Wimbush the kid who decommitted from PSU to go to ND?
Maybe he is re-thinking that decision. . .

Pittsburgh is going after him big time.

Since we have no designated QB penciled in next year, he will given a good opportunity to compete and win the starting QB job for the one year he has left in the NCAA.
I suspect he will select a school that will give the greatest opportunity to start.

I thought Pitt would be bringing in a grad transfer to compete with our newbie QB.

That was the reason I was also on the board yesterday talking about Hayden Rettig.

See how it goes.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

You have Chris Laviano in the mix too!

Yep...Jersey kid.

At this point, I'm happy with who we have and I'm certainly not going to bet against McSorley. Whatever "it" is, he has it.

I doubt any school at the P5 level is going to bring in Rettig. Very little game experience which is one of the key factors in looking for a grad transfer.

Don't know a lot about him other than he was a Rivals 4-star recruit with a great arm.
With some of the problems that Rutgers had at QB I was always surprised he was never given more of an opportunity. Based upon his parting comments he seems like a great kid.

Didn't two Purdue QBs end up starting at SEC schools this year? Maybe Ed Orgeron has a higher opinion of Rettig than Les Miles and Rettig returns to LSU.

Interesting sidebar to this story that I was not aware of.

Pitt current OC Matt Canada was at Wisconsin in 2013 and involved in the recruitment of Zaire.

Zaire was ranked as the No 4 Duel Threat QB in the nation in 2013.

Wisconsin's current QB (who guided them to a #5 CFP Ranking this year) will be returning next year.

Not saying he will matriculate to Pitt but I think we have a good chance of getting him.

Hearing Pitt is the best place for himself well now.

Possible

However, I didn't notice Rutgers was one of the schools mentioned in the OP reference.

Also hearing UNC could be in the mix so who knows.

Wait and see how this all plays out.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

He was he was probably headed to Fresno state before coaching change. I'd expect a school like that out west.
