Taking recruits from other states has risks as shown by the number from Florida that have transferred from Rutgers.I prefer NJ recruits because it minimizes family concerns and its less costly on the recruiting budget.

And NJ kids don't transfer out (Huggins, Shuler, etc.)? We need to recruit out of state in addition to NJ. NJ is a great place to cherry pick from but build your entire program around? Not enough there even if you got the top 20 every year.

Yes but the ''transfers'' were mutually beneficial and were riding pine here...2 VERY LOYAL RU men mentioned here...neither really wanted to go..

NJ recruits will come when we start winning. Let's win first with recruits from Anywhere, USA.

Wrong. You don't know the talent of NJ football.
If RU had gotten half ( that's 50%) of the Top 10 NJ recruits every year for 4 years we would be finishing in the top 3 of the B1G Division with the right Coach. Right now we are getting Zero of the Top 10 NJ recruits each year.

Not wrong at all. NJ football is somewhat overrated. Where are the top tier OL in that grounp? QBs? Interior DL? Go back and look. Sure there are plenty of backs, receivers, tight ends, linebackers and defensive backs. But you need DEPTH along the lines and QB play. NJ doesn't produce enough. And I'm not saying we don't need to recruit NJ kids. But we need out of state kids too if we want to compete.
