No. 12 Rutgers wrestling (11-4, 3-2) hits the road to face No. 8 Minnesota (7-1, 3-1) on Sunday 1 pm BigTen Network

My least favorite wrestler. Barbosa should have been guy from Day 1. Mistake by Goodale at that weight class.
At this point I’m just assuming they’re going to preserve Barbosa’s redshirt and he’ll be the guy next year and moving forward.

It looks like a 174 lber wrestling a 157 lber. Like one guy lived in the gym and the other guy went for a run.
The crazy thing is White is a workhorse. I don’t know how he hasn’t gotten much better since his red shirt year. Just constantly out muscled.

OT: Plane and helicopter collide in DC

I was a 1744E in Maine and NB, Canada. Didn't know about Gibbsboro AFS even though I dated a girl from that town in high school (their kids went to my hs)! Found out about it much later. Was The Golf Farm there when you were there?

Don't remember anything about a Golf Farm. I was there in the early 80s. Mostly we worked and did lots of drugs. :)

Dusty May, in so many words, said his game plan

This is totally fair and reasonable.

Majority of those were from role players. I mean Martini for example has had legit an all time awful time shooting the ball as of late, Gavin Griffiths bad (the guy that got ran out of here). Michigan had their game plan for a reason, and by not finding ways to free up Ace PRIOR to the double arriving, we played the game they wanted to play.

I guess I've hit the point where I realize this team isn't winning (without Harper), unless Ace has an efficient day offensively. It's brutal to me that JMike had probably his best game of his career, and we still were unable to win.

RU couldn't get over the hump all day, we'd make a little mini run, get close and then the offensive possessions where you NEED a bucket to flip the script we were just content not getting the ball to Ace because of the double and would settle for jumpers from Martini, Sommerville, and Hayes (who hasn't gotten run all year).

I just don't think it's winning basketball. I would have liked us to have a couple of plays drawn up to free up Ace for really clean looks in those key spots. Perhaps nitpicking, but in a 1 possession game, these things matter.

I do give credit for the staff though as this was the most Pike/Rutgers game we've played all year. Was good to see.
Yeah but what happened to the mid range game from ACE or anyone else on the roster. Shooting 36 threes no matter how open they were was Michigan’s game plan. Hitting 5 midrange shots by ACE , Martini , PJ , Lathan , or Jordan wins the game easily. Pike not getting ACE off the 3 point line and getting him in the paint or foul line was a total fail to make a simple adjustment. They were not giving ACE threes but doubt they could have stopped ACE at 12-15 feet. Anyone else hitting a few midrange shots if set up with a pin down wins the game especially during the droughts between 13 minutes and 6 minutes to play.

OT: Small plane( Lear 55) crashes onto street in Philly

Well, now... what manner of shit show thread have we here?

Indeed.

Okay, here we go, then.

Aircraft was, as we all know now, a Lear 55 and about 45 years old, of Mexican registry and operated (as all Lear 55s are) by two pilots. 55 feet long, 44 foot wingspan, max takeoff weight of about 23,000 lbs.

Departed PNE (an airport I've flown in and out of many times, including one landing as a 7700 with an in flight emergency), climbed on runway heading to about 1200' and then... not. It was airborne for about 48-53 seconds. There was no communication from the flight crew post-takeoff. Conditions at time of departure were IFR (instrument flight rules), as there was a low ceiling overcast, with rain.

There are two very critical bits of evidence that can be obtained from the Ring cam footage that's floating around. First, at least one of the engines (and likely both) were running at a high power setting upon impact. Second, the aircraft was inverted as it came down.

Engine failure on takeoff would be a very unlikely cause. Pilots are very well trained in that scenario and an engine out on a tail-engine aircraft would not cause sufficient asymmetrical thrust to make it flip over.

But something did, so we need to look at possible causes for that.

There are basically two. One is a "rudder hard over" - something that caused the rudder to deflect fully to one side. This has happened before, most notably with two 737s that went down on final approach to Colorado Springs and Pittsburg in the 90s. The rudder deflection was caused by the failure of a power control valve that had become contaminated by metal fragments. An un-commanded rudder hard over would cause a hard, accelerated turn resulting in inversion.

The other is some sort of split control surface deployment of either the ailerons or the flaps. As in, they took off with 10 degrees of flaps and then, upon retraction post-takeoff ("Gear up. Flaps up.") only one of them retracted, leaving the other deployed and resulting in an asymmetrical lift scenario, which would cause a hard, accelerated turn resulting in inversion.

A 3rd, less likely scenario is that one of the pilots commanded the turn for some reason, possibly due to disorientation. This is unlikely. Most pilots would have flipped on the autopilot as soon as the ascent was stabilized so they could focus on navigating the busy PHL airspace.

One final scenario would be airframe icing, resulting in airframe stall. This has happened many times, most recently the Colgan Air (Continental Express) crash in Buffalo in (I think) '04. Icing in this situation was basically 100% unlikely because there was no time for it to build up.

Ultimately this will be a tough one to figure out, because whatever pieces are left of the Learjet are very, very small. The media is reporting that the NTSB is looking for a CVR (cockpit voice recorder) but it's unknown if the plane had an FDR (flight data recorder) because not all non-commercial aircraft are required to have them. Aircraft for hire operate under one of several sets of FAA regulations and data capture requirements differ.

This, however, had nothing to do with Air Traffic Control and nothing to do with DEI. The odds-on probability is that this accident was due to a mechanical failure of a very old business jet registered in Mexico.

Basketball Bailey struggles, Rutgers Basketball falls to Michigan 66-63

Your whole offensive philosophy cannot be a 5 out 3pt hoisting offense. You MUST be able to score 15Ft & in

It certainly can be.
But "our" offensive philosophy cannot be because we don't have (or recruit really?) 3pt shooters.

People keep saying "we had open shots. Just need to hit them".

There's a reason they doubled Ace and left everyone else open for 3pt shots.
Because we can't hit them. An open 3pt shot is a better option for the defense than Ace doing anything.

Put Ace on a team with capable 3pt shooters and see how well doubling him works.

The common sense counter to a constant double team is to get the ball to the open guy for a clean look.
This is totally fair and reasonable.
I mean.

We did have a counter. We got 36 open three point looks. And missed 26 of them. Wtf is the coach supposed to do about that?
