Fran McCaffery, the head men's basketball coach at the University of Iowa, signed a four-year contract extension in March 2021. The extension runs through the 2027-2028 season.

Contract details
  • McCaffery's base salary for the next two seasons is $2.3 million.

  • His salary will increase each year for the last five years of the contract.

  • He is also eligible for longevity bonuses.

  • If the season is significantly shortened due to a pandemic, his base salary will be reduced by 10%.

  • He will receive bonuses for conference and national achievements.

  • His salary percentage increase is based on the team's highest finish at the conference or national level.
Buyout

  • If Iowa were to terminate McCaffery's contract, his buyout would be around $4.2 million.
  • Iowa could pay the buyout over three years, which would cost the university about $1.4 million per year.

Fran has a Big 10 tournament title...can you ever imagine Pike having a team that can even dare to compete for a Big 10 tourney title.... 7 ncaa tourneys at Iowa...5 more at smaller schools and he won 2 games at Siena.....look at Pikes Stoney Brook record....not that impressive when you think about it in 11 years...1 ncaa bid and zero wins and it look all 11 years to get there and he shit the bed 3 times winning the regular season american east and laying turds in the conference tournaments

When’s the last time you bought Yankee Season Tickets? Fans most certainly are paying a portion of the players salary with their Yankees season tickets, which are very expensive. The difference here is that donors pay the players salary through NIL Collective.
