Where is BKin118? What are his thoughts?

I hate this view point and will always call it out. The small checks are just as important as the large ones. The large whales aren't coming in if they feel people aren't all in. I certainly wouldn't. Also, some small check writers turn into larger ones. The important thing is to get people to give something, its not that hard.

You can't complain we stink if you don't give, period end of story. Sorry if that upsets people but it's fact.
Mostly agree. The questions I would have is are you allowed to complain we stink if you give ? Is there a minimum to get in on the complaining game . It kinda gets murky here. because say I donate $50 and Skoolie donates 5k, can I complain as much as Skoolie?

Was Paul Mulcahy the most important player in modern RUBB history?

I’ll give credit to Paul. He tried his hardest when he was here.

But he was DEFINITELY not the most important. He was not clutch at all and I would make the argument that he self destructed when the pressure was on. He made a critical turnover in the First Four game vs. ND. And he basically became a shell of his peak towards the end in his last season including playing terribly in the crucial Penn State game to try to make the tournament.

Auburn-Alabama

Two years ago there was talk about Cliff being a 2nd round pick. No one, no where is having that conversation now. Alabama hurt him in that regard. Hurt his Euro payday as well.

I also watched the SHU-UConn game a the same time. It was a great game to watch. SHU stood tough when another team might break.

Here is the reality on "running an offense ".....

If you run a true offensive system that mitigates the risks of your roster and takes advantage of their skill sets you don’t have to hide someone in the corner. Our offense now is one person creates a shot and four people watch. The data supplied in the first post in this thread solidifies what is said above. Teams that historically been at the top of the standings in shooting statistics are not the most athletic team. They are system based programs. The Iowas, Purdue’s wisconsins of the world. They have no athletic advantage over anyone else in the league. They run a system that gets their players open for clean shots.
You said we have more open shots this year due to double teams. Where are these shots coming? Mostly in last resort situations outside the flow with little time in the shot clock.
You hit on what has been said by myself and others in this thread Pike did a horrific job with roster management and creation. He took way too many players with the duplicative skill set. But much of the inadequacy could have been dealt with if we run something other than iso looks.
I am not defending pike here Xs and Os on offense ….but what do you want us to run that will create better looks with the personnel we have ???

I’m being serious here …

the space thsr our poor shooters are given really crowds the rest of the court …

Amd we don’t have guys who really move well without the basketball . You see a guy like Sanford from Iowa …it’s the ability to be agile and balanced moving off the screens to get open …and then get the shot off quick. I do not see anyone on the team outside of Dylan and Ace with that atheltic ability and cordinatoon to do that …..

can we do some different things on sets to be better offensively ??? Yes ….but at the end of the day , we can have fran Mac or Greg guard or Matt painter come in….and I don’t know wha they are running for this team when it has this much of its roster Incapable or hitting above 33% from three …and outside of Dykan and ace , guys who can’t do anything but shoot threes

This is both a jimmy and joes issue AND and Xs and OS issue

But it’s more jimmy and joes being the issue …..

Andy Katz Snubs Rutgers' Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper With Big Ten Freshman of the Year Pick

I can’t argue with him. I have been impressed with Queen since I saw him play last year in the McDonalds game last year.
The kid is a beast and has made a huge difference on the terps. Im glad I got down to maryland to see him play in person. As much as it pains me as an RU fan, Queen was the best player on the court that day.

Season Tickets

that's fine as long as you are also ok with a subpar team...because our peers are trying to milk their fanbase for all their worth. this is big time athletics.

to me long term fans do get rewarded...with priority points. you get them for tickets purchased and for consecutive years of purchase...plus you get them for lifetime donations. this is more than fair imo and gives you a nice head start over a newbie.

it's not like a guy who has had row a-c type tickets in the 100s for 20 years is going to have his season tickets revoked if he doesn't buck up...but yeah he might have to move back some rows or move to the side for a guy who is willing to cut a big check.
The long term fan should have the option to keep his seats, just tell him what is required

OT: Winter Storm Thursday 2/20: Very Likely Somewhere Between A Non-Event and a Minor Event (oof)

Why do you all get so pissed by weather posts? Just read them if you like and make your own minds up. I don't get the jealousy or rancor with weather posts. Unless there is some back story rivalry, just read or ignore. This board seems to fight over every thread posted, be it sports, politics or weather!
It's sublimation of political differences evident on other boards if not also here.

Season Tickets

I have said many times that the long term courtside fans should remain where they are, as long as they want
They are true fans
Rewarding a new big donor, he might be here one year and gone the next, while the long time fan got screwed and worse seats
There is a reason long term fans accumulate
priority points
