JMike

I have not been a big JMike fan, but he has converted me here recently. He plays more under control than before, doesn’t make as many negative plays as he once did, and is getting better at making shots near the rim and jumpers. He plays more in control than JWill who just recklessly races around the court like a squirrel on Meth chasing around for a nut. At this point, just start JMike and flip JWill’s minutes to JMike and JWill gets the number of minutes JMike was getting off the bench.
Hello!

Pike Enthusiasts

Nope, being in the BIG has been monumental for RU. OVER 78000 APPs for Rutgers new brunswick is unreal. The academic reputation of the BIG will never be given up.
That's great...how much are we going to ask NJ residents to pay?

Not sure how accurate this is.....
The Garden State lost 20,820 tax filers and $5.27 billion in adjusted gross income (AGI) during that 12-month period, the foundation said

Not to make this too political.....and i am on the other side.....what happens when a political candidate for governor says he/she is going to go through the state with a fine tooth comb and get rid of wasteful spending and lower taxes. Do you think it is going to be OK for NJ tax payers to be paying $50,000 for a backup center for the Rutgers basketball team?

Pony up or Shut Up

Next month starts Free Agency, or the transfer portal, or whatever you want to call it, and Pike needs all the resources he can get. We need impact players, not schlubs who take up space. Impact players cost 💲, which we don’t have enough of. Maryland fans ponied up and the majority of their scoring is from transfers.

Maryland Transfers Point totals From Rutgers Game
Rodney Rice- transfer from VT - 19 pts
Selton Miguel - transfer from South Florida - 17 pts
Ja’ Kobi Gillespie - transfer from Belmont - 14 pts

Our transfers are not contributing enough because we chose from the bargain bin. They are too inconsistent. The performance on Court is a reflection of our support or lack thereof and We are reaping what we sowed.

I knew we were F’d as soon as we lost Cliff. Only to watch him languish on the bench. This year, we must hold on to Somerville, and add the appropriate complementary players. Get the right players and we can get back to the tournament next year.
Al, I appreciate your RU fandom. But this is a crap post. The problem is the coach 100 percent.

Pike: “100 percent on me” for Iowa loss- two thoughts

I'm not sure I really believe 1. Everyone cheers when ball goes in hole. That's about as basic an impulse as you get from a basketball crowd.
Of course everyone cheers when the ball goes in the hoop.

To what extent though? The RAC has always been at its loudest when the team gets defensive stops and goes on runs.

Team plays TEAM defense and the RAC fans are right on top of you breathing down your neck with each failed possession.

You don’t feel the pressure of the fans as much when you aren’t struggling to put the ball in the hoop.

Dylan injured!!

Lazy, low energy performance by Harper. Best 8 minutes we played was when he was on the bench. If he is hurt or sick then he shouldn't play at all.
Iowa took him out of the game and Pike didn’t help him with the stupid offense. When we finally figured out to spread out let him go one on one, he scored like 4 straight trips. For some stupid reason he decided to pull up for a 3 on the next trip to help Iowa. Game was over after that because our D sucked.

Pike: “100 percent on me” for Iowa loss- two thoughts

I’m just not sure how you can go from the Illinois game to the Iowa game and blame the RAC.

Two things have happened recently:

1. You have an offensive focused team and Rutgers fans have always been more supportive of defensive minded teams. This is true in both basketball and football.

2. Because of the Ace/Dylan additions, we attracted a more casual fan base at the RAC. There are 100% people coming to games specifically for those two.

Stop taking portal kids and follow Purdue, Wisconsin & Sparty

The problem isn’t the portal, it’s that we don’t have a SYSTEM.

When those teams recruit through high school or the portal, they’re recruiting specific players to fit a role in the coaches system.

We don’t.

We recruit players that are “pikes guys” or guys that play on mid major teams and make our daunting defense look average.

We run a very selfish program. It’s why legit players who want to win don’t stick around.

Dylan injured!!

Someone needs to check on JWill.
He might still be spinning in circles looking for an Iowa player after that dagger 3.
I hate to single out players but it’s every game. For every nice play he made, he immediately offsets it with either a stupid foul or gives up a big bucket. It’s like a kid who gets too excited and gets out of control. He ends up with the ball in his hands way too much late in the shot luck
