Same type yes, but Pike couldn’t carry the ballbag for Bennett. The game has passed Pike by. A coach that wants defense and rebounding before offense is a dinosaur in college basketball today. Good offensive talent will not want to play here. I think its why Bennett retired from UVA, same type of coach.
LolAce avg one goal tend per game. He knows those count right?
This was unacceptable tonight, everyone from Katz on the sideline, Hummel on the broadcast, to Pike himself on the bench talked about the lack of energy and effort. That falls on Pike, totally unacceptable and based upon the downward and disappointing arc of the program, it makes Pike fireable. I know it’s not happening in reality, but in a perfect world it should happen as the team did not listen and respond to him. Makes you then wonder if any messages are getting through to them this year. Now that I've had a few minutes to calm down, get this coaching staff out of my university. Can get a cheerleader who rolls the balls out and holds nobody accountable for a lot less than $4M per year.
Thanks for the good times, but it's over. Take the high road and negotiate a settlement with the school. He's obviously too stubborn to change up how he runs this program.
They are soft and the team is soft. No wonder NBA ratings are dropping like a stone.
I concur and strongly recommend implementing such a offense at Rutgers.Andy Katz was the sideline reporter on the telecast. He mentioned twice in the 2nd half that Pike was imploring the team during timeouts to play with energy, clapping and trying to energize them.
This team has no heart and no leadership.
And we still haven’t figured out how to defend Iowa’s motion offense after 9 years.
Ace avg one goal tend per game. He knows those count right? Our bench is very smart then
But, but, but Pikiell is a defensive genius. Bull shit. He's a stubborn fool. Macaffrey made the adjustments in the second half by running his motion offense with high and low ball screens and cutting into the paint, and they killed us in the paint with their center and wings with easy layups. then when we collapsed on them, they kicked it out to Dix and Sanfort and knocked down open threes. Why Pikiell insists on playing man-to-man baffles me, especially when we're getting smoked out there.Andy Katz was the sideline reporter on the telecast. Fifu.thats what she said.Hobbs is laughing his ass off. His extension for achieving mediocrity is the gift that keeps on giving.
The same can be said about someone like pJ Hayes or Martini. They DGAS about Rutgers. They likely got paid some stupid amount of money, stink for 14 weeks, leave and likely never return. We probably bought Noah Fernandes a ton of diapers and baby formula last year to average like 8 ppg and get his shit stuffed twice a game.Ace and Dylan will both be on campus for less than a calendar year. Amd both are making a ton of $$ with crazy money on the near horizon. How much vested interest in Rutgers and this season could they possibly have.
Our bench is very smart thenAnd he was on the bench.
Probably never will at this point, assuming Iowa and Rutgers have same head coachesAndy Katz was the sideline reporter on the telecast. He mentioned twice in the 2nd half that Pike was imploring the team during timeouts to play with energy, clapping and trying to energize them.

Spot on comments except for building a statue.I prefer a refund to all season ticket holders.Team is done. Same issues every game and zero improvement all year so far. Horrific roster construction and a non functional offense (yet again). Just a disaster of a season. Coming off a disaster of a season. And heading into a likely another disaster of a season. But let's go build a statue...
The lack of points was bad, but the lack of effort was worse from both of them. Low energy Dylan the whole game and Ace beaten on the defensive end a number of times by players who are nowhere near his talent level. It wasn’t about talent tonight, it was about effort and Iowa had way more than us on a night where our two best players looked like they played with minimal effort.24 combined points from Harper and Ace against defensively and athletically challenged Iowa just won't get it done
I don’t really disagree with the sentiment here. But I also find this dude’s posts really friggin annoying right after a loss.
And here come the Pike apologists shooting me down and fondly remembering the one win in the dance.
