No. Rivera was the first player ever unanimously elected. So think about that, in particular all the previous, better players who were not unanimously elected. It was just silly for decades.

Yeah he’s a very frustrating player but to me it’s pretty obvious that we don’t have an alternative who is a better option to play the 25ish minutes he’s getting alongside Dylan and Ace. Davis is already out there with him for at least half of that time (and sitting only when Pike is looking for a bigger stretch line up). I’m not sure how many games Acuff needs to be invincible in on offense with Dylan for some folks to stop campaigning for him to get more time. He doesn’t know how to play a supporting role on offense with a healthy Dylan. At least to this point. At least that’s what the statistics to date demonstrate as he’s scored a total of 6 points in games Dylan played with all when Dylan was on the bench since Columbia.

Acuff is the worst defending guard on the team. So for him to warrant time, he has to be contributing on the other end.

You said he was bad in the first half and I point out that we only gave up very few points in the 13 or so first half minutes that he played. He played 25 of 40 minutes and Illinois probably scored 2/3 of their total points in the 15 minutes he was on the bench. If you think he just got “lucky” and the guy he was responsible for just missed shots that’s probably something to keep to yourself because it’s simply not what the data says. Obviously Pike agrees with me and not you here as Acuff only played 4 minutes in this game.

I do have a thing w JWill, he drives me crazy, but just rewatch the first half. Even in the game thread, which I normally don't comment in, I made comments on my surprise we hadn't seen Acuff yet (while admitting JW had been at least OK to that point besides the foul), and commented on his lack of D.
Anyway, game is over, its an excellent win, and JWill played a role in that, so I'm glad.

With this being said, the first half of Saturday appears to be dry
as high pressure still remains partly in control. This will be short-
lived however as precipitation is expected to move into and
overspread the area from south to north during the afternoon hours.
While daytime high temperatures on Saturday are expected to be in
the 30s, thermal profiles suggest that once precipitation begins,
temperatures should drop to around/below freezing. This will support
a brief period of snow across much of the region later Saturday
afternoon. As low pressure tracks closer to the area, will see a
modest ramp-up in warm air advection occur as a warm nose aloft
around 850-925mb surges northward. Short-range guidance also depicts
a corridor of strong frontogenetic forcing will be accompanied with
the increase in WAA. This should allow an area of heavier
precipitation to develop before a changeover to sleet and freezing
rain occurs from south to north. This is supported quite well by
point forecast soundings as the depth of the warm layer increases
overnight. Eventually, a changeover to plain rain is expected
across the Delmarva and much of southern New Jersey early Sunday
morning. For areas across eastern Pennsylvania (outside of the
Philadelphia metro) and northern New Jersey, frozen precip will
likely continue through much of the overnight as cold air at
the surface hangs on a bit longer. Only the highest terrain
areas of the Poconos and northern New Jersey may remain all snow.

In terms of amounts, the current forecast calls for roughly 0.50-
0.75" of liquid QPF. Breaking this down into snow/sleet totals, a
coating to 1" is expected for much of the Delmarva, SE PA, and S NJ.
Further north, 1-3" of snow is expected north of the PA Turnpike up
toward the I-78 corridor. Once north of the I-78 corridor (and
especially north of I-80), snowfall amounts of 3-5" are expected.
Depending on how much sleet mixes in, totals will vary significantly.
There will also be a large swath of ice accretion across much of
the area. Greatest potential for ice accumulation in excess of 0.1"
will be along the I-95 corridor up into the Lehigh Valley. Considering
this and upon collaboration with neighboring forecast offices, Winter
Weather headlines will likely be warranted within the next 12 hours.

  • The ICON shows 1-3" south of 276/195, then 3-5" from 276/195 to 78 and 5-7" from 78 to 84
  • The CMC shows a general 3-5" for everyone north of a Wilmington to LBI line up to 84
  • The UK shows 3-5" from Wilmington to LBI up 78 and shows 5-7" N of 78 up to 84
  • The Euro shows 1-3" from a Swedesboro to LBI line up to 276/195 and then 3-5" from 276/195 to 78 and 5-6" from 78 to 84
  • The NAM shows 3-5" from a Phillly-LBI line up to 80 and 5-7" from 80 to 84
  • The RGEM shows 1-3" south of 276/195 and then 3-5" from 276/195 up to 80 and then 5-6" from 80 to 84

The Kutchera maps are lower across the board and with mixed precip or rain being an issue they would be wiser to use. Ratio will be below 10-1

Both Mirasola can get in the lineup if Barr goes 184… then that leaves out Ryder unless he wants to challenge for 197. But Barr looking like a good sized 197 now so how likely is it that he even drops down to 184 next year .

Yeah I’m not sure of the reason nagao left minni, you gotta imagine 141 will be blaze for sure, he slots in perfect starting next year…..I agree nagaos best shot is at 133….Davis does have a shirt available, how long does lilledahl hold 125?
I don’t see Barr going down to 184, he’s doing great at 197, handled mirasola earlier this year…..Ryder will have 184 covered starting next year…..I think mirasola could be on the pine for a bit with Barr still have 3 more years

He has 2 more years of eligibility, yes he made it down to 157 but was pretty sucked in…..even if he can hold 157 Kasak is there who also has 2 more years….messinbrink has 2 more years at 165 and Haines has 1 more at 174……he’s not beating anyone of those guys…..yes Kasak and Haines both have redshirts available but at this point I do t see either of them using them…..no inside knowledge but I would imagine Facundos days are numbered in state college

The parity will be there at the end. You have teams like Oregon dropping off. Teams like Arkansas beating the better SEC teams.

In a sense, the assessment is more a testament to what we didn’t do to this point than what we did - and what remains ahead. Because we already have 11 losses left with 5 out of 8 games remaining on the road (4 against tournament teams) it stands to reason that we’d have to pick up a minimum of 3 road wins over solid tournament teams to get to 18-13 (at least 2 would be ranked). It’d be tough for the committee to ignore that but it’d also be very hard to pull off.

If we had beaten PSU and Michigan we’d be 14-9 right now - in that situation - there’s no way 4-4 with a sweep of the home games and a win at Washington would’ve gotten us in the conversation. The combinations definitely matter a lot for any 18-13 team.
