Dusty May, in so many words, said his game plan

Coach needs to realize - Acuff looked good and tell the players let’s feed it to him as long as Ace is getting doubled. Martini was in a sling when out of the game. Gutty performance, but we needed to score at higher pace. Tell Grant to stop shooting threes - go rebound the ball and dunk it. Williams - drive the ball and try to dunk as aggressively you do in warmups.

You can’t assume these guys know the fundamentals or know how to play with aggressiveness, because they clearly don’t.

OT: Stormy and Potentially Snowy from about 2/8-2/22? (pg 9); OG Thread: Cold and Potentially Snowy Pattern Likely for Most of January

Haven't really done deep look at model runs and whatnot, but the nifty upper air graphic doesn't show us in the entrance region of those jet streaks. Obviously this is just more model output and actual jet streak positioning is TBD, but as modeled above, NJ doesn't really catch the areas of greatest PVA from the amplified jet. Impressive, but you don't really want them sitting directly on top of you for greatest diffluence and PVA.
Not our event and temps rise in many areas anyhow

Zach Martini - most impactful defensive player? Most important metric says so

So your arguement is his metrics are way better than everyone else because Pike puts him on the floor with only the better defensive players?

Sorry.....don't buy that AT ALL!

This isn't a stat per say. It is a measurement of how many points are scored when a player is on the floor.

I am sorry we are better with him on the floor on D despite his inability to rebound. Our D is based on switching and he by far gets this more than any other of our bigs. In the Pike Defense this is so important.

When you are a forward/center, rebounding is a primary defensive responsibility, not “switching”.
Antone Woolfolk would have gotten major minutes this year if he’d stayed.

OT: Cooking up some LoBro!

Funny that this thread got bumped recently, this is exactly what I have cooking in my crockpot right now. The house is starting to smell like it.
I always put pork and beef in my tomato sauce (gravy in South Philly) and my beef choice yesterday was London Broil! Super tender after 3 1/2 hours. It was cut into smaller pieces and I had to use the big spoon to pull them out of the sauce, fork went right threw it. Will pull it apart in the next few days and have a Italian beef, sauce and mozzarella on a good roll this week!

OT: RU Alum Matt Pinfield Suffered A Stroke Leaving Him "Incapacitated"

Most knowledgeable person regarding music of nearly every genre/era that I've ever known, hands down. Back in the mid 80s we hung out some after the Melody and I remember being just floored by his album collection: he had about 8000 albums filling up an entire wall of his apartment and the funny part was he said that was his "heavy rotation" collection, as he had about 25,000 more at his house in EB, where he grew up.

Ed is a prince of a guy and I also regularly listen to his show on WRSU Saturdays 10 am - 2 pm - best show on radio anywhere, IMO. Ed was also one of the occasional "roadies" and players of music when Matt would disappear - he used to have a huge long pony tail he whip around when dancing.

Anyway, here's the link to the original Melody thread (not premium)...

Thank you for the thread link. I will enjoy it all over again. I worked with a woman who went to high school with Matt. She told me that his record collection was in the thousands then.

Ed is the only one of the Melody reunion “inner circle” that I know well. We used to interact during his radio show and I also got to know him as a “civilian”. He is a true renaissance man, also accomplished at auto mechanics, electronics, skiing, rock climbing, as well as triathlons and probably pretty much anything else he sets his mind to. I’m pretty sure that he doesn’t watch any TV. I agree that his show is the best on radio anywhere. Oh, and Ed was always wearing a hat. Usually a cycling cap.

Who of our guys goes earliest in Aprils draft

All fair opinions. I don't know where KM will go but he has to be drafted after what he has shown.

The main takeaway for me is how nice is it to have theae conversations once again?
Players are sometimes better not being drafted after the 4th or 5th round. They get to choose the team that fits their strengths to help them become successful. If they believe in themselves they can take short contracts and become a free agent early. Pacheco is a prime example. Making little money on a 5 year contract.

Zach Martini - most impactful defensive player? Most important metric says so

Gavin Griffiths would be at the very top of this metrics if he stayed at RU, just a matter of watching the games I guess.....🤣🤣
Stop it. My eyeballs said team was different when Martini came in. I said it in the media TO right after he came in to one of our most respected posters. Also why would Pike play him 27 minutes?

You can ask him…..not Pike

Who of our guys goes earliest in Aprils draft

Things could change after the combine but some early thoughts

Powell might be held back by injury history but pound for pound he has huge talent. Hopefully he is fully revovered for the combine at which he will will shine

Monangi is one of the best backs out there. The league has been devalue RBs of late if that were not te case I.d seem him going very early

Longerbean and Pierce have generated a lot of buzz at their all star game which has them as better known entités. Like longerbeans chances a lot

As I recall Riggs was pretty much dead nuts accurate this year on snaps but a great LS will likely be q FA signing

As far as the 5 guys at the combine I think Powell will single himself out at the combine and might go earliest
Disagree that teams are devaluing running backs. Running backs carried many teams this year and are becoming more valuable again. Offensively a big change this year.
With that said agree Longerbeam might go first.
